(Kion's POV)
I watched as the last of Scars army fled to the safety of the outlands. I had to admit, I was getting tired of dealing with them day after day, but who am I to complain, I accepted the role of the 'Fiercest in the land' long ago.
"Well done Kion, Lion Guard." I heard a familiar voice, "Thanks, Dad." An old friend then stepped beside my father. "Yes Yes! Kion and his guard are growing up! And your son is more powerful than ever." He said looking at my father. They shared a look of uncertainty before turning to me and my guard. "Dad, what is it?" I ask as I climb down to see him, "You and the guard have done a good job of deterring scars followers, but it hasn't stopped his army. We need a change in strategy. I say we take the fight to the outlands."
My guard turned to each other, sharing looks of anticipation, worry, even excitement, but remained quiet. "Dad, even if we beat his army, Scar is a lion in a volcano, how can he be beat?"
"Scar is nothing without his army, once they are defeated scar will have nothing left." I turned to face my guard. "Assemble everyone from the pride willing to fight, we attack in 13 sunsets on the night of the new moon."Could that really be it? The end of this war? All in one single night? It's almost too good to be true. My thoughts turn to everything that's happened in these last few years, every grove torched, every Pridelander that had joined the circle of life all for scars sick schemes. All could have been avoided, had the hyena clans not drawn my blood to bring his spirit to live in his broken body.
This is it. We are ending it now. Every last resource and able body will be put to use to end this horrible war, and end Scars campaign of terror once and for all. "Who can know for sure..."
They all left for pride rock, all but one. We stayed together and watched the outlands together in anticipation, I don't need to turn my head to know who it is either, "You should rest Umeme, we have a long trail ahead of us." She looked back at me with a smirk that always made my day, "As if, you forgot that we promised to stay by each other's sides when we formed the guard together." I sigh in defeat, "Let's go home then." "Smart thinking, Ki." I blush at that last comment.
