"I don't want to have kids right after marriage" Vaani had admitted to him about her plan.
"But why?" He asked, with a doubtful mind.
"See, whole my life I have only traveled with my family and that too to some place of worship. I have never enjoyed like as I should have" She tells him wistfully, thinking of the places she could have visited only if her parents were open-minded.
"Hmm, I have traveled alone. Last time I went to Goa." He says over the phone. Vaani was taking a walk on the terrace, talking to him after logging out of her work.
"Hey, I went to Goa too, but don't tell anyone. When I was in Bangalore I went with my friends" she whispers quietly on the phone telling him her secret. She hadn't asked or told anyone at home about this. Only her cousins knew.
She knew she had asked then she would have never gone to any place with her friends and she did not regret it once. Many children did the same just because their parents never agreed, only leaving a choice for them to lie. They know that their parents are trying to only protect them, but keeping them inside without any exposure is only a way to suffocate them.
For Indian parents, it is hard to stop controlling their children's life as long as there are alive. They want to have a say in everything, but if you won't let the child decide on his own after one time then he would depend on the parents for his whole life.
"You went with Syed?" He asked with a frown, his mind working overtime.
"It was him plus seven others. Not just the two of us. Stop overthinking" she informs him, her mind whirling with this doubtful creature.
Telling anything about Syed had landed her into his doubtful mind. She didn't know whether, to be honest with him in the future or not.
"You are not going to tell or share things with me from now on, am I right?" He asked hesitantly knowing that his doubtful mind was making things hard for Vaani to share.
Sharing things with him was only inviting more trouble for her.
"Maybe... Anyways, so I was saying, I want to enjoy myself a little by myself and then think about kids" she comes back on the main topic of conversation.
"Yeah, I also want to enjoy some time with you, just the two of us" He comments, cheekily, giving a different direction to the conversation.
"Ummm, ok, good. Then you know we need to use some kind of methods right?" She asked feeling more than just awkward, but she had to talk to him about this and get this over with.
She did not want to end up getting knocked up just right after her marriage and if necessary precautions are not taken then it was going to be difficult later on.
"Yeah, but my friends told me that wearing those, doesn't give you much pleasure" He whispered discreetly, trying to be secretive.
"but what other option do we have?" She asked shivers running down her back, because of the talk.
"you could ask your friends or maybe we could just not use anything. I want to have a baby soon anyway, I want to gift my mom" He said excitedly.
"I am not interested in that, she is not going anywhere, she can see the baby later" She dismissed his absurd idea of gifting their baby to his mom. Every parent wants to see their child's child but the way he said it, did not sit well with her.
"Ok then, you find a way for that, I am not going to use anything," He said haughtily.
"I... um, you can always pull out or there are pills that women take" Vaani offered meekly, knowing that he would ask about her knowledge over these things.
