Vikrant was still on the bed and had refused to have breakfast. Vaani due to her mother-in-law had to had her breakfast without him. All the time she was in the room she could hear him sniffling but couldn't understand what really was the reason. She wanted to give him time but she didn't want to see him crying as well.
Today they were making chapatis for lunch so she came out late from the kitchen but while cooking she had come to the conclusion that she was ready to say the 3 words she was yet to tell him. And she was determined to ask the reason for his recent change of behavior.
Washing her hands she walked swiftly towards her room and found Virant in a fetal position on the bed. She moved to his side of the bed and pushed him up in a sitting position but he was not cooperating at all.
"Wake up. Why are you behaving like this?" She asked rolling him so that his back was on the bed now.
He got up fully and left to wash his face.
"Tell me, I can't read your mind," Vaani requested frustrated.
"What is that all in your phone? with your roommate pooja," he questioned her and then asked her to open her phone.
"What is it?" Vaani asked confused.
"You lived with Syed, you had a relationship with him, you treated him like your husband"
"What? you are talking nonsense!"
"See your messages in 2019, you said, he just came, he is sleeping, he even gifted you a dress, what is that all about?" He exclaimed accusing her.
"You checked my old messages? That too with a girl?" she asked freaked out ready to defend herself but she was more shocked than anything.
He had invaded her privacy. She wouldn't have minded him using her phone but checking for some kind of proof to prove himself right? Was that even right?. Blown out of her mind she didn't know what to say more.
"huh," he scoffed, "You deleted all your old messages with your lover. There were only a few days of chat that you intentionally left for me to see"
Vaani was speechless, even after their marriage he was still doubting her but this time he had crossed his limit. It was true that there wasn't much of a conversation in the cats with Syed and the older messages were long gone even more she met Vikrant.
"I didn't leave anything intentionally. Whenever we fought I deleted his chats in anger and it's my wish if I want to keep any messages or not. Why did you go through my messages? You never trusted me." Vaani said distraught but she was being patient with him. If there was someone else in his place, she would have given them a nice one.
" What is there to trust? I was right about you from the start" He claimed happily that he found something against his wife but what was all this for?
"You still had doubt in your mind. why did you say that you trusted me?"
"It's not doubt anymore, is it? it's not doubt if I found the proof" He said smugly but with anger in his eyes. "So what if I checked your phone"
"What proof? what are you even using against me?"
"That 2019 messages, see that for yourself. Why did you even keep those messages, why didn't you tell me about it?" he asked her getting angrier by the second.
"Because there was nothing to tell and I didn't even remember. Those messages are not even the whole thing. You are assuming things again." Vaani said softly.
"How can it be nothing and how don't you remember? He fucking gave you a dress. I asked you soo many times if you had any relationship with him, but you never said anything." he went on accusing her.
