Before arriving at Vikrant's house, Rangayya had checked the time and called to inform them that they should visit a Hanuman temple instead of coming to the house directly, as the time was not right.

When they finally arrived, Vaani and everyone else was impressed with the old building, that they called house. It was indeed very old and there was a garden with more open space for vehicle parking.

Vikrant stood outside, waiting for their arrival but Vaani ignored him, completely avoiding meeting his gaze, feeling shy. She felt strange being there.

Vikrant's mom stood outside and the door, and welcomed them. Then asked Vaani to step in front and then performed aarti, applying Kumkum afterwords. Then they were all escorted to the room they were staying.

The room smelled like fresh paint, they closed the door behind them, everyone going to freshen up.

"Wow, the bathroom is soo big, you can even sleep here" Meghna commented coming out of the bathroom.

"Why sleep, the husband and wife could shower together if they want" Geeta commented slyly, to tease Vaani.

There was a knock on the door and Vikrant's fragile mother walked in with a tray, with tall glasses of juice. Meghna took the tray from the old woman, and before anyone could as her anything she vanished into thin air. Everyone peeked outside, but the house looked like a maze to them.

They sat and drank for a while and the old women came again.

"Can I see the sarees which you have bought?" She asked Vaani politely, her back hunched. Vaani pitied the old woman, she was running around the house serving them.

"Yes, yes," Geeta said instead, taking out the sarees to show her.

Vikrant's mom took the covers off and inspected all the sarees.

" Where did you buy these?" she asked with a scowl on her face.

"Just here in the city, it was the only shop with many options" Vaani replied politely, looking closely for her reaction.

"They sell fake sarees here, taking extra money and the sarees are not even that great. We always get them from Hyderabad." The old woman commented, keeping the sarees on the bed. After that, she left.

Everyone stared at her back as she vanished once again.

"Your mother-in-law is very smart. She hurled an insult at us indirectly." Geeta looked at Vaani, scoffing in disbelief.

"Yeah, who would say that such a fragile, innocent-looking woman would say something," Meghna said.

"Yeah, she did this because you did not like the ones they had bought for you" Geeta continued looking at Vaani's sad face.

"Let it be Maami, let's just rest for a while," Vaani suggested feeling the onset of an impending headache.

After few more minutes, the old woman came back, now with a tray of tea.
"We will start the night function in some time, you guys should get ready" She said politely leaving the room.

Hearing that everyone started getting ready not knowing what kind of ritual they were going to perform. Vaani wore he red lehnga which she had bought for her engagement. Her aunt had insisted that she wear it.

Another lady had come and taken two sarees from Vaani's purchase. They were going to present that saree back to her during the function.

Everyone got ready and Meghna helped Vaani to get ready, applying makeup and all. When they were called again in a hurry, they went outside the house quickly, where the function was being held.
