Bump In the Night
Sadie's POV
========"I am no damsel." I snort. Peeling myself from his firm, beefy chest. "And, your no knight in shining armor." Trying to regain my composure.
"Though your chest sure feels like armor." Mumbling under my breath, I turn to Sandy for back up. She always has a good snippy retort for assholes like him.
"I'm sorry, its confusing seeing as how I'm always coming to your rescue." He scuffs. "By the way, I'm happy to see your leg is better." I turn back to him, prepared for an old fashioned stand off when Sandy finally chimes in.
"Hi Hunter, long time no hear from, after a great fuck." She swayed past me and pointed him square in the chest. I crossed my arms in astonished disbelief. "And, you are..?" Jax tilted him head to the side.
"Ha! Yeah. Sure. You don't forget a hot peice of ass like this." She smacks her ass and it echoes through the room.
"And that's all it was." He stood in the middle of the room like he demanded attention, respect. But, why did she call him hunter? And how in the hell had he gotten in here. I'm certain I had locked the door to keep Keira out. I'd have to ask her about that later.
"You two seem to know each other, very well, I see." I say rolling my eyes. "I'll leave you too it then." I head behind the register counter. More customers are entering and I needed to get ready for them. I had no time to deal with him, or Sandy.
"Oouch. No need to be hurtful handsome." Sandy rubbed her hand across his chest. "Anywho, what can I do for you. Or, did you come all this way just to run into me once you noticed I ditched the bar maiden shtick?"
He paced around, through the shelves of potions, I guess deciding which he wanted. I tried hard to keep my eyes from trailing over to him. But, just like that day in the forest, I couldn't help it. It seemed so long ago but I can still feel myself wrapped in those arms. Keira would have to suffice. I ring up the next customer but my ear stretches thin to ease drop on the conversation across the room.
What is wrong with me?! I try so hard to listen to the little old lady in front of me but I can't. I hear Sandy giggle and my concentration is broken, once again.
"I came looking for no one, just to refill an order. Same as last time just an extra vile here." He points to the shelf. She looks up at him and grabs a paper from his hand. "Just gimme a sec."
He turns suddenly and our eyes lock. This is so embarrassing, he caught me staring right at him. I try to strike up a conversation with my last customer but it was cut short. I watch him walk over to the counter. "Or, maybe I did?" I stare into his crystal like eyes. "I.. I'm sorry. Did you say something."
"Just that I may have come to see you." I think the expression on my face may have said it all in that very moment. "May I take you out to dinner?" There's a glint in his eye but I can't tell for sure what he's intentions are.
"I have a girlfriend." I blurt out like a complete idiot. Sadie you are a grown woman, do not let this guy treat you like anything different. I clear my throat. He smiles a toothy grin and leans over the counter. "I know."
