Ancient Sacrifice

Sadie's POV
=======

The walk was worse than the one I had endured earlier today. I tired to leave my body behind, letting my thoughts drift back to the wonderful evening I shared with Jax. I wonder if he's worried about me. Surely others would have noticed I'm gone by now. Hopefully someone is searching for me. I thought about my Dad, how many times I've broken his heart. I'm such a disappointment, maybe I'm lucky mom isn't here to see this. It would torture her.

My legs burned and all the energy I could muster was all I could use to continue on. Everytime I tried to give up and collapse Keira or Melanie would give me a hard shove to keep moving forward. My pants and shirt had been tattered by the branches that stuck out on this no existent path we walked and I was unluck enough to be placed in front. The two ladies chattered behind me but managed to keep it muffled enough to not be heard. The rain helped to cover most of the conversation. Honestly, it didn't matter what I heard. I knew I was doomed.

My tears had long dried but my heart ached and pleaded with me to produce more water works. The duck tape stuck to my mouth and it felt like I had dined on cotton balls.

We finally reached a clearing and the only think I could make out through through storm were big mountains that appeared to took up most of the area. As we got closer I could see a warm glow igniting from within the side of one of them. We reached a human sized opening and I could clearly see a dank cave with small boulders that circled the fire that sat in the middle.

"Mmmh, mmmmhhh." I squirmed and tried to protest through the duct tape. These women were truly insane and I was stuck either them, alone.

"Get inside Sadie." Keira demanded.

I tried to plead to her with my eyes. Tears had made another appearance and I hoped she would feel pity and set me free.

Melanie pulled out a pistol from on of her boot legs and aimed it right at my face. "Now, sweetie."

I sobbed deeply as I headed inside. The smell was rancid and moldy. I looked around but even with the help of the dimly lit fire pit there wasn't much to see. They pushed me to a cave wall and forced me to sit on the cold wet ground. Leaving me handcuffed, they wrapped heavy chains all over my body. The chains hung from nails dug deep into the cave wall, and I knew it was pointless to struggle with them.

"Hmph. Okay, now the hard part baby." Melanie walked to the fire and kneel at the alter in front of it. Placing the gun beside her. She flipped through a thick book sitting at the alter. It looked pretty old, like the pages would fall from it if you weren't gently enough.

"Great, let's get this shit over with." Keira's silver hair glowed in the moonlight and I looked up to see a giant hole at the roof of the cave. It had stopped raining now. I looked back to Keira, feeling her eyes burning into me. I quickly turned to ignore her gaze.

I realized I was sitting next to a giant pool of water, a natural spring I think. How had I not noticed that before? What are they planning to do with me?

"It's not shit babe. I want to be the Greatest Witch of all time, and you wish to have great power too, right." Melanie swept her hair behind her ear.

"Yesss, you know I do." Keira sits down behind her and throws her arms around her waist.

"Well then, you know that in order to do that. We have to do this. That bitch needs to die, tonight. You said it yourself. She has ancient blood in her and we haven't come across that in a millenia. It's our only chance to get this spell done right. We call out to the Siren Queen Aylia and she grants our deepest desires for a sacrifice." Melanie looked into Keira's eyes and kisses her deeply.
