lizzie keeps trying to crack the case. this isn't about dana it never was. it's about being the perfect daughter and making a good impression. meanwhile, hope is dealing with landon. "landon, you have rafael to guide you. you don't need me to help you." hope says, attitude in her voice. landon stopped dead in his tracks. "if you don't want me here just say that." hope turned around and looked landon dead in the eye. "i don't want you here." hope walked away, looking for her only 'friend'. josie was the only thing lizzie and hope thought they could relate to. someone they can both talk too about their problems, just not about each other. "josie!" hope shouted through the halls. eventually, hope came across lizzie and josie's room. thank god for her. hope burst trough the door hoping to speak with josie but instead got lizzie. lizzie looked up from her notes on her bed. "what are you doing here?" lizzie asked hope. hope looked around the room, still holding onto hope that josie was there. "i needed to see josie. another time then." hope said before turning around and heading out the door. "wait!" lizzie yelled at hope. "i can leave a message."

in all honesty, lizzie was just looking for a way to talk to hope with no unwanted tension. "oh," hope said all confused. lizzie began to get off her bed so the conversation wasn't as awkward. "tell josie that uh," hope genuinely didn't know what to say. lizzie was never this 'nice' to her before. "tell josie that i need her to meet me after fifth." hope said. lizzie nods aimlessly. "okay, thanks. that's all." hope mutters on her way out. that went well.  lizzie thought to herself.

"emma!" hope shouted through the halls. hope was desperate to tell someone about the encounter between her and lizzie. because if anyone understands their conflict, it's emma. "hope, relax i'm right here." emma said in her calm voice. hope let out a deep breath and put her hands on her knees. "you won't believe who's being nice to me." meanwhile, lizzie was preparing to rant about her encounter to josie.

"JOSIE!" lizzie shouted as she walked through the door. a shocked and surprised look came across josie's face. as stated, josie was not only lizzie's rock, but also hope's. as nice as lizzie was being, she still enjoyed the fact that she got to josie before hope. it was as if they were having this on going tug of war with an invisible rope. "lizzie, what's up?" josie asked with a smile on her face. "i think i might have a new crush, but," lizzie paused. what was she saying? hope mikealson? really? what was she even thinking? "nevermind," lizzie mumled as she slipped passed josie. a confused face appeared on josie's face. "oh." josie said to herself.

"it was beyond strange, emma." hope said, relieved. she felt like she was getting something off her chest. something beyond bothering. "well, i wouldn't think too much of it, hope." emma tried providing comfort. but hope's trust issues flared. "i can't get it out of my head." hope kept suggesting. "okay hope," emma began to say. "lizzie's trying new meds. maybe she's just trying to go along with it. nothing to worry about." emma smiled. trying to provide to insight to hope. "yeah, okay." hope said. hope knew it wasn't her meds, but maybe something else?

"may hope mikealson, lizzie and josie saltzman, milton greasley, kaleb hawkins and landon kirby please report to the headmasters office. thanks you."

"there's been sighting of a woman who appears to be a tree." alaric informed the students. lizzie stood up her seat, ready to object. "we haven't cracked the dana case yet, dad!" alaric paused lizzie. "we can't waste anytime." lizzie looked down at the ground. "fine." josie looked at lizzie before looking at their dad. "i'll work with lizzie on the dana case." kaleb said. lizzie became shocked. kaleb's always hated lizzie for the way she treated mg back when he liked her. but he understands what it's like to not always impress the people you love.
