hope sat on the bench in town square. her eyes were dull, her breathing was steady, and her arms were on her knees. "hope?" a voice said from behind her. she turned her head slightly. "did you tell anyone you were meeting me?" she slowly stood up. "you asked me not to so, no." hope knew who it was. she had called her there. she turned around fully, and looked at the brunette. "josie," she muttered. "i don't know what you're going through but—" hope cut the brunette off. "you're right. you have no idea what i'm going through." josie took a gulp.
"i thought i could do it. even though i couldn't." hope explained to josie. the brunette was confused. she tried to follow along with what hope was telling her but she couldn't.
"i thought i was ready to become the tribrid , kill malivore — ethan. all the emotions that would bring."
"my dad was turned into a vampire once. he told me how it was."
"why didn't he turn it off?"
"because that's never the answer."
"isn't it?" hope smirked. josie took another gulp, this time she was scared. more than scared. she trusted hope, she knew hope. but she didn't know this hope. "hope.. no." josie's eyes filled with tears slightly. "why did you bring me here?" josie gathered herself. "to send a message." hope clarified. "make sure all of my little friends stay away too." hope took a step closer. "especially, lizzie."
"well, i don't think she'll listen."
"i'll make it loud and clear."
