"a spider," kaleb complained to mg. "what are the chances?" kaleb continued. "seems likely." mg replies. in a sense to try and understand why these monsters are coming for a boy who stole a knife, hope has been studying in the library with josie for hours. trying to understand why him. why landon? "how's lizzie doing?" hope asks while flipping the pages through the book. josie looks up from her book. "she's doing okay," josie tells hope. "why do you ask?" hope looked away for a second. "well," hope puts the book down. "i know what it's like. you know, the validation." josie shuts her book. "i just want someone to think i'm worth staying for." hope locks eyes with josie. hope will never understand how josie is so understanding, but at least she has her.
"how was the so called tree lady?" lizzie asked alaric as him and dorian got back from their trip. "shockingly nice," alaric stops to tell lizzie. "misunderstood." alaric corrects. lizzie nods. "we found out what's sending the monsters," lizzie holds her breath. "something called malivore." alaric said before walking away. malivore? never heard of it. lizzie began to wonder. the library contains all the answers. books on everything. going from basic spells to klaus mikealson; the great evil. lizzie made her way to the library, scattering for anything on 'malivore'. through all her scattering and searching, she spotted hope and josie. it would be stupid to not go over right? no. that's weird. it puts a blank spot in lizzie's spotless mean streak. "lizzie?" a voice from behind her asked. lizzie turned around in a panic. "oh, hey." lizzie couldn't slip up. hope crossed her arms. what was she doing here? hope needed her space and needed an outlet, but no. lizzie just had to be here. "i was," lizzie paused. "looking for a book about something dad told me about." lizzie wanted to be honest. josie trusting her wasn't a problem, it was hope.
lizzie was feeling things she shouldn't. she wanted to push those feelings away but she couldn't. so why not try and understand them? "what did he tell you about?" josie asked. lizzie looked away from hope. "something called malivore," stay honest. lizzie repeated in her head. "dad thinks that's where the monsters are coming from." by the time lizzie finished her sentence, hope had already walked away.
