lizzie stood behind the glass. she couldn't bare to go in. josie's arm was broken, and her spine was fractured. lizzie winced at the thought of josie's pain. lizzie felt someone place their arm on her shoulder. mg. "she's gonna be okay," he spun her around. "i promise." lizzie fell into his arms. grasping him in for a hug. "thank you, mg." lizzie's words slurred. she wasn't only terrified for her sisters life, but hope hadn't returned. mg pulled away from the hug (which lasted for a little too long.) "i just wanna know what happened to my sister, mg." lizzie mumbled, holding back tears.

suddenly, a light bulb appeared over mg's head. "i can do a head dive." he said with a faint smile. lizzie looked up from her hands. it was a great idea. a safe way to make sure her sister was okay, and that it was just an animal attack. "keep lookout, okay kaleb?" mg asked coldly. him and kaleb were still on the outs, but he wanted to be there for josie. "yep. all good." he muttered back. mg and lizzie made their way back to the ICU. mg gently placed his hand on josie's forehead. lizzie placed her hand, delicately on mg's hand.

this was town square. why was the memory here?

( this is set after the memory )

tears flowed out of lizzie's eyes. the pain overwhelmed her. how could hope do this? why josie? "i'm sure this is a misunderstanding." mg tried to reason with lizzie. "what does it matter? you heard hope. her humanity is off." lizzie stood up from josie's fake body. "she wants to kills us - she almost killed josie!"  lizzie was angry. rage filled her words. the last person lizzie wanted to see was hope.

hope had left town. she found herself stranded at the boarder between mystic falls and beyond. she wanted to leave. she wanted to be free. but something lingered over her. memories. guilt. lizzie. the very reason she turned it off was so she wouldn't feel that. so why the hell was it overwhelming her? she felt it again. guilt. her mother. her father. her uncle. josie - lizzie. she knew she turned it off for this very reason. it would be pathetic to turn her humanity back on a mere 24 hours after she turned it off.

she gathered her thoughts, her memories. her emotions. everything. she got rid of it. fully. she opened the car door, and drove. endlessly. freely. but something still lingered.

not a feeling.

no. not a feeling at all.

a person.
