CHAPTER 9 - Promise

Pandit:- "Now please stand up for the saat phera's!"

Pratap and aparajita stood up.

Pandit :- "Maharaj you will lead the first four vows Then Rajkumari aparajita will lead the remaining vows."

Pratap and aparajita nodded. Pratap offered his hand to aparajita Aparajita looked at him  he smiled at her she gave him a small smile  she then  held his hand and with that They started walking around the holy fire.

Pandit :- "The first vow, maharaj Promise your wife that you will take care of your wife, your children and the family."

Pratap :- "I promise you Aparajita that I will take care of you and our children and our family."

Pandit :- "Now rajkumari promise your husband that In return, you will undertake the responsibility of looking after his home and his food."

Aparajita :- "I promise you maharaj pratap that I will take care of you and your family and your food."

Pandit :- "The first Phera is complete  now the second phera, Now maharaj promise your wife that you will protect her under all circumstances."

Pratap:- "I promise you aparajita that I will always protect you."

Pandit :- "Now rajkumari promise your husband that you will stand by his side in all his agonies and happiness."

Aparajita:- "I promise you maharaj pratap that I will stand by your side in all your agonies and happiness."

Pandit :- "the second phera is complete. Now third phera."

In the third phera pratap promised aparajita that he will work hard to earn enough wealth for the family and in return, aparajita promised him that she will effectively take care of the income and expenses.

In the fourth phera pratap promised to entrust the responsibility of his household to aparajita and respect her wise decisions regarding the same. In return, aparajita promised to fulfil her duties to the best of her abilities for a respectful living.

Pandit :- "and now for the fifth phera rajkumari will lead the way."

In the fifth phera pratap promised to consult aparajita in all important matters. In return, aparajita promised to support pratap in all his venture.

Sixth phera pratap promised to remain committed and loyal to aparajita, besides considering her alone as his wife.

Pratap :- "I promise to be a one women man. I will not marry anyone else and aparajita will be my only wife."

Aparajita looked at pratap in admiration She smiled at him  Pratap smiled back at her. Aparajita promised pratap by heart that she will always remain faithful to him.

Aparajita:- "I promise that only maharaj pratap will be in my heart And no one else. I will always remain faithful to him."

Pratap smiled at her and she smiled back. Ranjit was aparajita's past and pratap was her present and future. He was the only person who cared about her opinion. He always made sure she was happy. And now it was her duty to keep him happy.

Pandit :- "Now the seventh and the final phera maharaj promise rajkumari that you will lead your entire life with her and that she is not just your wife but your friend forever."

Pratap :- "I promise that I will lead my entire life with you aparajita and that you're not just my wife but my friend forever. "

Pandit :-" In return, rajkumari promise maharaj that you will also spend your life with him until the very end."

Aparajita :- "I promise you maharaj that I will spend my entire life with you until the very end."

Pandit :- "The seven vows are complete. Now you can sit down."

Pratap and aparajita sat down.

Pandit:- "Now apply sindoor on your brides hair parting."

Akshara lifted the maang tikka a little bit. Aparajita closed her eyes and Pratap applied the sindoor on aparajita's hair parting.

Pandit :- "Now tie this mangalsutra around your bride's neck."

Pratap took the mangalsutra and he tied it around aparajita's neck. Aparajita looked at her mangalsutra she was now officially the wife of maharaj pratap and the queen of avanti She looked at pratap. He smiled at her reassuringly She gave him a small smile in return.

Pandit :-"Vivah sampann hua! You two are officially husband and wife now!"

The drums started playing. Everyone was happy. But aparajita she was nervous.

Aparajita thought," I have to tell maharaj pratap the truth."
