TW: Abuse
June 15 2012:
Cassie was sitting in her room at her Aunt's house. She had just had a fight with a boy . It wasn't her fault she thought. Her mother and father were out.
Her Aunt and her husband were there in the home. She always felt safe in her Aunt's house like nothing could harm her. In the City, people teased her but here people treated her like a God.
Not that she was one but they just thought she had cool things.
She was gonna go to sleep when she heard someone shouting. Maybe her parents were back? She saw that her brother was fast asleep and ran towards the noise .
To her horror it wasn't her parents but her Aunt and her husband. She kept on shouting," What is up with you ?I hate you, I don't wanna be even near you . You disgust me."
" Me?You never told me this all and those kids they better leave and specifically that girl."
"She won't this is my house ."
"Your house?"
He slapped her . She just stay still . Looking at the man she married. He then saw Cassie. Cassie hid behind the curtains.
" You did all this for her right? "
"Don't you dare go near her."
He went outside and closed the door behind him. Her Aunt kept on shouting and screaming.
"You can do anything to me but for the love of God! Don't you dare touch her!"shouted her Aunt.
Cassie stepped back scared. At that moment nothing scared her more than him. She screamed, she felt frightened.
He grabbed her hair and said " I am gonna settle this for once and all."
She started crying and then her brother came with a big bat and with shaking hands hit him on the head.
He looked back but the hit by his tiny hands was too strong and then, Caleb went and opened the door where his Aunt was and she took the bat and hit him thrice. He didn't die but lay unconscious.
All this while, Cassie couldn't move. She felt terrified and couldn't stop crying.
Her Aunt called their parents and they had a big argument.

Her mother swore never to leave the kids here.
She then went and hugged Caleb for being so brave.
Cassie was so shaken by the incident that everything was a blur for her. She loved her Aunt but never wanted to come back. Her Aunt's Husband was sent to Jail and she divorced him.
They were leaving Mallory. Cassie was wrapped in a towel and was crying.
She saw Zac and started crying more. Now he will tell everyone I was crying thought Cassie. He wasn't laughing like she thought he will but just completely expression- less and just stood there silently.
Her Aunt kept on shouting that please leave her here. Don't go!but mother didn't wanna listen at all.
" We will come here after you get settled. " said Cassie's mother.
"Maybe not everyone wants to get married, have kids. Maybe some people are happy with what they have."
" Then be here alone!"
Saying this she stormed away.

Cassie used to stay awake at night thinking about the incident. She was scared to stay alone in a room . She even got her long hair cut. For a 7 year old girl this was a big trauma to handle .
Her mother still blamed her for getting into the adult's business but to be honest she knew she can't defend her Aunt but she wanted to still because she loved her.

Her mother didn't speak to her Aunt after that day as if it was her fault but in reality it was her mother who so desperately wanted her to be wedded and she was the one who found the groom. Once late at night she ,woke up to see her parents arguing.
" It's all her fault. " her mother said
" It is not really. "Her father replied
" Why? She is the reason my sister is no longer a sister for me. S-she put Caleb my sugerpie through all that trauma."
"She is a little girl. "
" A devil I should say to destroy my family. You know sometimes I wish she wasn't born."
"You don't mean that."
"I do."
Cassie couldn't figure out at that age, that they were talking about her and overtime she forgot about this .
She would get panic attacks because of what happened that night but sometimes love is all a child needs.
Fiona her best friend she helped her throughout and finally made her feel free.
Isn't it funny how we always blame the victim for the crime of others?
Was it really Cassie's fault?
