I Can Never Hate You

It had been a week since Cassie's birthday and Zac hadn't teased her or said something mean.
She just couldn't understand why?
It was as if she was too used to it.
She was really busy with everything that she was forgetting things so much . She had given her notebook to Monica and she had lost it.
" Monica , how do I do all my work now." asked Cassie.
" I am sorry , just manage for today , I'll do something. " said Monica .
" WHAT WILL I DO?" shouted Cassie , but Monica had already walked off
" What happened? " asked Zac.
" She lost my notes and now she isn't listening to me also."
" You cannot take the blame on you , you need to tell the teacher. said Zac
" I guess I will."

" Miss Mcgullon ! this is the third time I row you haven't brought your notebook. "
She looked at Monica , she shoot her a  ' I'm sorry look'. Cassie didn't wanna expose her like that.
" I'm sorry Ma'am,  I will get it next time."
" I'm sorry too! Detention for you ."
" Ma'am but I- "
" Ma'am , she gave me her notebook and I lost it ." said Zac.
" Ok great , Zac detention for you , and sorry Cassie , you should have told me the truth." said the teacher.
" Ma'am but -" said Cassie.
"No talking now."
After the class , Cassie rushed to call Zac. Why did he take the blame on himself.
" ZAC ! WHY DID YOU DO THAT? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?" shouted Cassie.
" Why did you take the blame on yourself,  whe  it wasn't even your fault? said Zac.
" I didn't want Monica to get scolded. "
" Well , I didn't wanna see you suffer!" said Zac and he walked off.
Cassie just stood there frozen.
She felt her cheeks burning.
She felt a feeling she couldn't describe. 
That was the moment she knew she never hated Zac.
Nobody takes the blame upon themselves for a person they hate .
All she could think was about Zac , Zac and Zac.
She had flashbacks of him from her birthday,  the day they met , the silly fights they did.
Was she in love? No she couldn't be not with him thought Cassie.
Cassie was just lying in her room listening to songs.
When Riri entered her room.
"Hey what's up Cass , your Aunt has been calling you from 15 minutes." asked Riri.
" Ah what I'm sorry I was listening to music."
" I wanted to ask wait why are you lying like this? "
" I was just listening to music that's it."
" I know this look. What's the name."
" There's no name. I am telling you Riri."
" Oh come on tell me."
" It's not exactly a crush I mean it's something different."
" Is it love? "
" No no it's Zac I-"
" Zac? I er have some work to do I'll come."
" Wait , what work did you have with me ? RIRI?"
Riri had already left . Little did Cassie know that Riri had a crush on Zac since 9 grade.
She was determined to make her move as she knew Cassie would.
Cassie was going to Zac's house for babysitting Adi after many days .
"Hiii Adi." said Cassie
" Hello Cassie."
" How do you feel now?"
" I feel better."
Cassie shot a glimpse at Zac but he looked away.
"He is so strange." thought Cassie.
After the babysitting Cassie was leaving Zac's house and she saw Riri.
" Riri what are you doing here?"
" Well can't I be at my boyfriend's house?"
" I am sorry! Your boyfriend? "
" She asked me out yesterday and I couldn't say no."
" Yesterday?  After you left my house. I gotta go. "
Cassie left saying this . She didn't wanna stay there even for a second. 
She didn't wanna cry but she did anyways.  She tried to stop but she just couldn't.
" CASSIE!" shouted Riri.
" Save me the explanation Riri! I don't  wanna hear."
" Look since you came here, you have everything I always wanted and I don't wanna be jealous but I am. "
" What you mean it's my fault now ?"
" It's not , I always wanted to be with Zac but he never talked to anyone expect you even though mostly it was bickering atleast I got to be near him."
" So you used me as friend just so you could get close to what? A boy? Great move Riri."
" No it's not that."
" Like I said save the explanation,  I don't care it was just a petty crush but it's not the fact that you were in love with him or something it's the betrayal I feel right now."
"I'm sorry Cassie but I did what I had to do."
" Then let me hate you."
" CASSIE , I don't wanna lose you. "
" Well you did when you decided to do what you did. I am not jealous either but I don't wanna be with you anymore. "
" CASSIE !! CASS!!"
Riri kept on shouting but Cassie didn't wanna hear.
She stayed in her room all night crying.  Her eyes were swollen in the morning.  She washed her face and decided to let the things be.
She texted Fiona all this and left for school.
"Want a ride?" asked Zac.
" No thanks. " said Cassie and moved on.
She ignored Riri and decided to ignore Zac for now as well. She doesn't wanna cry again. She was lost in her thoughts when she bumped into Leo.
" Hey , Cassie are you ok?" asked Leo.
" I am. I am alright. "
Cassie could hear her voice breaking.  She couldn't keep it in anymore.
" I -i a-am just tired." saying this she broke down .
Leo hugged her as she sobbed . " Hey hey it's alright,  what happened? "
She told him everything crying.  He told her it was alright and told her to pull herself together.
" Look I know what you need,  do you sing?"
" Yes I do why?" said Cassie washing the tears away.
" Karaoke night is what I'm thinking. "
"Wow really Leo?"
"I am thinking scream away your pain in songs is the best way of dealing with it."
"Umm okay what time?"
" 7 PM be ready. "
" Sure and Thanks again. "
