The morning came rather quickly and you and Kirk left at the brink of dawn, you slept for a short span of the ride, but you awoke once the sun was halfway risen above the horizon, coloring the sky red. You were slightly nauseous as you muttered under your breath, "Red sky in morning, sailor's take warning."
"I'm sorry?" Kirk perked up.
"Oh, sorry, just an old thing I learned, I don't even know if it's true." You laughed.
"Red sky at night, sailor's delight, red sky in morning, sailor's take warning." The blonde general quoted, "That's what you said, right?"
"Yeah, is it true?"
"Yep, helped me out in my time in the navy, actually. That's where I started, y'know? But yes, it looks like we might have some heavy rains come in, though I'm sure we'll be out of the area by then, so don't worry, princess."
"Oh- alright,"
"Did the prince tell you why he chose me to go back with you yet?"
"No, he didn't, I just assumed it was for lessons with Kieran."
"Well there's that, and the fact that he wants me to help guide the Vulcan military, I'm sure he's told you his plans for when you two come into rule."
"Oh yes! He wants to further integrate Kingdom cultures to help prevent further wars, he's also talked of bringing in some Klingon warriors to help teach tactics and train the Vulcan soldiers in their ways along with trading tactics. The Vulcan military could actually use some more aggression as their thing is more sneaking and silent killing, which isn't exactly the most efficient." You rambled.
"You know your stuff, princess!"
You laughed awkwardly, "Oh not really, I just enjoy researching things. Sometimes I fixate on something that it's the only thing I can research, Vulcan culture was one of those things."
"I see, so you'd be more like an intelligence adviser."
"Yes, though as queen, I'll have to be knowledgeable on almost every political thing the Vulcan kingdom is involved in."
"Quick question, what future do you want for the Vulcan kingdom?"
"Well, I've noticed that the Vulcan kingdom is very reserved, so Spock's views luckily align with my own views. Though I would like to help make the kingdom more aware of mental health. They understand it, they just think it's more of an inferiority thing so sometimes they look down on me for my race and disorders.""I figured, not many Vulcans are as open-minded as Spock, they can be rather snobby just because of how superior they apparently are. Spock even falls into that mindset at times!" He complained, making you laugh.
"Hey, he's getting better!" You chuckled, trying to defend him.
"I'll give him that, and he should continue improving since you two have a kid on the way now, how are you doing by the way? Any motion or morning sickness?"
"I'm a bit nauseous but it mainly comes in the very early morning around three to four am." You replied, you could see him visibly holding back his laughter. "Alright, what is it?"
"Okay, okay, so Bones, Spock, and I had this whole joke that Spock was actually Satan only because his ears and eyebrows were pointed! And the fact that this kid is making you throw up during the witching hour? It just makes it even better." He laughed as you chuckled along.
"I can see why, but I'd prefer if you didn't make fun of him for this, after all, I don't think that this is exactly his fault." You smiled.
"What? Not even a little bit?" He smirked.
