Chapter 20

Soon enough you were led to a meeting room deep in the palace where Spock waited for the three of you, but you noticed that an important person to you wasn't there.

"Shouldn't Kieran be here?" You questioned.

"I'm afraid that they have been taken back to the human kingdom by your father, they were arrested as a suspect of kidnapping you. Though I doubt that your father will get many answers out of them." Spock explained.

"I see," You sighed both emotionally and mentally drained from the events, "I'll send a letter to my brother to see to it that they are not harmed and are released as soon as he is crowned."

"A good idea," Sarek nodded. You finally took a good look at Spock to notice a deep green bruise on his cheek and a bloody green cut on his lip.

"Spock, please don't tell me that Darek did this to you." You stated in disbelief as you took a step forward.

"He did, but I will be fine, so there is no need to worry. You, on the other hand, have obviously been through a great amount of distraught. Are you alright?" He questioned, looking at your puffy eyes.

"It's all mental trouble so I'll be okay soon. But we should move on to more important matters, what's next?" You asked.

"We have to wait until your brother comes into power, but we must keep you safe. There's no doubt that your father has left or will be sending spies here to look for you, luckily they cannot enter the castle for anything other than a hearing or unless I or Amanda invites them." Sarek explained.

"I understand," You sighed, tired of being kept hidden.

"I know that this seems like a cycle, (Y/N), but it's what we must do. I promise you that once this is all over, you can explore our kingdom without worry." Amanda promised.

"Thank you, I really appreciate that, luckily I am willingly hiding away instead of being forced. Also, I no longer claim Darek as my father, as far as I'm concerned, the only father I'll even consider having is you, Sarek, as a father-in-law." You explained.

"I am honored to be considered for such a title, and this whole transition will become much easier on you now that you have no relational emotions towards Darek. Now, we must discuss some things about your stay, while you cannot attend any future meetings concerning the kingdom, I am willing to give you a full in-person report. Along with this, I am afraid we will have to make sure you have one of us with you at all times to make sure there are no attacks and or kidnappings. I am sure you won't mind sharing a room with Spock, do you?" He questioned. You felt your face go red and saw Spock's face turn the lightest shade of green. "Shall I take that as a no?"

"What! I would happily share a room with him, it's just- well um- it's very intimate to be sharing a room with someone that you are involved with." You explained.

"Are you planning on having intercourse?" Sarek blatantly asked, to which you could only sputter out inconsistent speech in reply.

"Father, no we will not be having anything of the sort." Spock seemed to groan in his own Vulcan way.

"Then I see no problem, everyone is dismissed." Sarek gave a wave of his hand and you and Spock left the room. There was an awkward silence between you two until you piped up with a small joke.

"So about the decorations-"

"How many of them do you wish for me to change," He breathed out, giving up instantly.

"I'm joking! I'm not going to make you change your decorations, after all, it is still your bedroom."

"Are you certain that you wouldn't want to add a few things? After all, you will be staying for at least two months."

"Maybe a few plushies."

"Plushies?"

"Yeah, like a teddy bear or a different stuffed animal. They're sort of comfort items for me."

"Ah I see, I could work with that. May I ask what your favorite animal is?"

"(F/A), why?" You cocked your head.

"No reason."

"Are you getting me a plushie of a (F/A)?" You purred.

"You will see, k'diwa." He brushed off. You couldn't help but stare at him in pure awe, you couldn't believe that you've come so far to be with him and you're finally here, standing with him and being with him. All those moments you've wished, hoped, and dreamed, all of those moments seemed to be worth it. "Is everything alright?" He questioned, noticing your lasting gaze.

"Oh, it's nothing."

"If there is something on your mind, I would like to hear it."

"It's silly, really," You laughed.

"I highly doubt that it is as 'silly' as you think it to be."

"Well- I've realized how hard we worked just to be together in this bizarre scenario and You've sort of become- well- you're my greatest adventure. I've never thought that I would ever actually find someone who made me feel the way I do and when I look at you, I feel it. And I look at you and I'm home. I have actually found a place that actually feels like a home." You confessed.

"That is rather personal, and I can see why you would find it embarrassing, but I assure you that it is not. I am- glad that you would think so highly of me and that you found comfort here. I will continue to make certain that you find your time here enjoyable." He reassured you. Maybe you really could find peace in your heart.
