RHIANNON ABERRA WAS PROBABLY THE MOST INTROVERTED SQUALLER TO EVER LIVE.
Her mother, a Fjerdan woman, had taken a trip to Ravka in her early twenties. She met a lovely Grisha man, and the two fell in love. Rhiannon was born shortly after, and as soon as her mother was found by the Druskelle, she was killed. Her father tried his best to take care of her, but was drafted into the First Army with barely any warning.
There was nothing Rhiannon could do but jump place to place for her entire childhood, until she was sixteen. She was wandering through the Barrel, as she had done so many times before, and found herself in a gambling hall. Not to participate, she assured herself, only to watch.
She ended up trailing after a boy who handled the cards like butter, and immediately wanted to be friends with him. So, after the game, she introduced herself, and Jesper Fahey became her best friend.
Jesper then introduced her to Kaz Brekker, Inej Ghafa, and the rest of the Dregs, and she slid right into place. She became somewhat of a mother figure for the gang — her calm, responsible, quiet nature making her the most reliable one. She went over all of the plans after Kaz did to make sure they had thought of everything. She bought them all food and drinks after a successful heist. She listened to them vent and rant and spill their guts. She held back their hair when they were sick.
When Kaz decides to take up the job of breaking into the Ice Court for kruge, she thinks it's a horrible idea. Her mind is quickly changed when a loud, brunette Heartrender is enlisted for help. Nina Zenik, her name was, and the two were complete opposites.
Rhiannon was drawn to her wildness, her free spiritedness, her energy. Nina was drawn to her groundedness, her calm, her seeming tranquility. "Opposites attract" is what they say, right?
