A/N if Rex goes to confront the chancellor

Rex POV

It made no sense. A bacteria he could understand but they had no proof. The jedi believed the chancellor. Didn't ask for records or anything. It's as if they didn't want to find out. Now normally he would go along with this. He had respect for the generals who he had fought beside for years, but the chancellor seemed shady. Especially after what Fives had said. He knew Fives, he didn't care what others said. They way fives said it he secretly knew he wasn't making it up but his mind told him otherwise. In this case his mind out ranked his instincts; well slightly. He took long strides down the blank corridor counting the seconds as they ticked by. Armor clanked as the metal surface of the smooth floor collided with it. He started getting anxious. Breathe Rex he thought as the door opened. He entered the room and was instantatly surrounded a power aurora. His eyes scanned the room until they fell upon him. The older man was sitting in a chair and had turned around as Rex entered. "Hello captain" he said in a warm tone, smiling gently "what can I do for you?". Rex stood his back erect compared to the chancellors. "Sir I came to discuss Fives demise" he says respect flooding through his tone. After all it was protocol. The older man brought his wrinkled hands together rubbing them thoughtfully. At first Rex thought he saw something flash in his eye but couldn't be sure. He was so easy to trust.. No. Keep focused. Something's up. "I'm sorry for your loss captain but this isn't the time to discuss this" He responded dismissively. "Please sir just hear me out" Rex said looking at the chancellor expectantly. The chancellor remained quiet and Rex took that as an open invitation. "Fives had said some things before. He said that you told him something ludicrous. Now I don't want to believe it, but my instincts tells me someone wouldn't just make that up" The chancellors face hardened "Captain he tried to assassinate me. Then he came up with a crazy idea of me in on some plot against the Jedi whom I have worked with far longer then when you had been bred." "That wasn't Fives sir!" Rex interjected "the Fives I knew was one of the best soldiers. He was loyal, strong and one of my best friends. I've known him pretty much since the beginning. He went under my wing general. Cody and I brought Echo and him back from the Rishi outpost. He was one of the first 501st members and I'm damn proud to call him my brother!" He exclaimed his helmet blocking any emotion from reaching the chancellor except what was picked up in his voice. "He had removed his chip causing a malfunction captain" he said impatience creeping ever so slightly into his voice. "He was still that same soldier. Except he was being hunted and didn't know who to trust! Why are you calling all the clones back?!" He scoffed "Bacteria?! You say they had bacteria but you offer no proof" Rex carried on his volume increasing as did his anger. "You are just like Krell you don't see us as humans you see us as experiments! Now we where made to die but that doesn't mean we have to be treated like we are nothing" he spit venomously. The chancellor had a thoughtful expression "are you don't now Captain. Or should I call you CT-7567?" Rex clenched his teeth "call me captain sir" he said taking every once of will power not to cuss him out. His muscles trembled from the built up rage a sneaking suspicion clouding in the back of his mind. "You come up here and try to prove something about Fives. His loss was tragic yes but you seem the one to need help. I'm calling back all the troops and having them searched for this bacteria captain. Perhaps we should check you over sooner. But for now you are dismissed" he says looking at the soldier in front of him. Rex was silent and the chancellor could feel the anger radiating off of him. He could work with that. A small smirk tugged on his lips. Rex turned on his heels and stormed out. Once out he used clone slang to trash talk the man inconspicuous to anyone who want a clone.

Chancellor pov.
The real reason for calling back those clones. Find problems and eradicate them. Well guess what. The captain just made his way to the top of his list. It was amazing what power could do. The Jedi where to blind to see it and the clones held no power. He had made it like that, manipulated the Jedi. It's about time for their victory. After all this wars almost over. Another one is about to rage on.

A/N okay that's my theory on why the chancellor ordered the clones back. To see which ones where problems to his plans and kill them.
