Now I know this is often theorized about and whatever but this is about what if Rex met Vader and figured out who he was
The silence that Vader keeps as Rex's eyes widened as he realizes that his former general wasn't dead and that he'd fallen so far from the man he knew. At first he might call out for him- with a "General?"
Vader would most likely respond with silence or "The person you knew is dead. I killed him"
Despite the obvious incoming threat Rex can't bring himself to fire, or even raising his blaster in the direction of Skywalker as the Clone is once more forced to aim at a former Jedi.
Vader obviously wanting to sever this link to Anakin and keep his identity safe would ultimately end Rex with a lightsaber to the chest. However as Rex laid dying Vader would kneel next to him, maybe even hold him and tell him what Anakin thought of him in a few words.
And Rex would see that Anakin wasn't completly gone and tell him that it was an honor serving with him as a general and a friend
