Valeria could not help herself but stood in the middle of her bedroom, watching Joonas start playing his guitar again. He opened his curtains for the first time since he found out about the true identity of the emogirl.
She turned around as she heard a knock on her door.
"May I come in?"
It was their first interaction where Evelina kept her voice low.
"I am not really in the mood to fight. Leave me alone."
She said, walking up to her desk to open her laptop to study so that would make her older sister leave.
"No, I am not gonna fight you this time. I came here for something else..."
She still did not turn her gaze anywhere from her laptop, so Evelina just continued talking while walking around the room.
"Okay, don't say anything if you don't want to but just listen. I am sorry, Valeria. I really am."
The things came out of her mouth made Valeria staring blankly at her screen, not understanding anything that was in the presentation but she was fully focused on her sister's speech.
"I mean, yeah, you did horrible things. I-"
"Evelina!"
"No, no! I am not going to roast you this time. I just wanted to apologize for the things I said and I did for the past few weeks. Nobody deserves to be treated like that..."
Valeria felt her eyes watering again as she remembered about the fact that Joel was the only person she had on her side all this time when her sister kept roasting her, her family was away, the man he loved was ignoring her and now he does not even know what to feel about her.
"I think you got your lesson, huh? You faced all the consequences of your actions like you should and I am happy about it."
She turned around in her chair to finally face Evelina who was looking at her with a sad smile on her face.
"How did you change this quickly? Only a few days ago you were yelling at me whatever comes to your mind in front of everyone..."
Valeria still did not belive that her sister was back to who she really was once. They have never been like those sisters getting along all the time and being each other's best friends. But they were fine. And they both missed it.
"Well, let's say, I realized that I have been a horrible sister... Actually, it was someone else who made me realize it..."
She was confused about who it would be when Evelina suddenly stood up to walk out of the room and came back a few seconds later with a guitar in her hand. It was her guitar.
"He asked me to give you this. He said it belongs to you."
Her eyes were going up and down from her sister to the guitar that was in her hand when all the memories she had with this guitar crossed her mind.
"Even my guitar makes him uncomfortable, huh?"
Evelina let out a chuckle seeing her sister in her hopeless lover state.
"There is a note between the strings. I think you should read it."
She just went to put the guitar on her lap and put a small kiss on her little sister's cheek just before going out of the room once again, leaving Valeria with her thoughts and the guitar alone.
She looked out of her window but did not find Joonas where she left so she took a deep breath and got the note out of the strings and slowly opened it while biting her lip.
