EDITED
________
I hadn't really been paying attention much since I got to school. I've been too interested in my book to even attempt to listen to the teachers. Luckily in all my classes they didn't notice. If they did then they probably just wanted me to try to learn something from my book I guess.
It sounds silly but I'm reading a kid book. There's A Boy In The Girls' Bathroom by Louis Sachar. It's about a kid named Bradley who is an outcast due to his older age than the rest of the kids in his grade since he stayed back so much. He is ignored and hated by the teachers and students and he likes it that way so that they won't mess with him. His only friends are his toy animals who idolize Bradley and even are so personified to be in relationships and have their own lives as long as he imagines them to.
As the bell rung I got up and headed towards the library. I would head to the cafeteria but on days where I am deep into a book I skip lunch and just read in the silent library. I walked in and sat down at one of the tables. I began reading for about 10 minutes. It was nice and quiet. So peaceful. So, so, peaceful.
"Hey, whatcha readin' ?", Luke sat next to me loudly and the peacefulness is gone.
He picked up the book, made sure the bookmark was in place, and closed the book to read the front and back. I watched and just observed Luke. He is just so, beautiful? Yeah.. beautiful.
I mentally slapped myself to get rid of those thoughts. I can't like my best friend. No, nope, no way. Not a chance. I am not going to ruin our friendship for a relationship that might not ever happen.
"Do you mind if I borrow this when your done reading it?", he said, pointing to the book.
"Yeah. Sure." Mali walked into the library and started walking towards us.
"Hey, dorks.", she said, "Same book from this morning? You must be really into it."
" 'Course I am. It's great literature."
"It looks like it's about a pervy kid who was curious what the ladies' room looks like.", she snorted and took the book from Luke. I then grabbed the book from her and smiled.
"Way more than that, sis, way more.", I said, opening up to my page.
The rest of the day went by quickly and before we knew it, it was the end of school for the day. Michael ended up going home early from throwing up and Ashton couldn't convince the nurse to let him go home too. That being said, Ashton was eager for us to hurry our arses up and visit Michael. On our way there we ended up seeing a few posters for an open-mic pretty soon at the local coffee shop. It looked interesting but frankly I just don't have the self-confidence to participate in an open-mic.
"Maybe we should enter?", Luke wondered as he held the flyer that was pinned to the public bulletin board.
"Okay, well, first off we need to go see Michael and by 'we' I mean 'I'. Anyways, we don't even have any original songs. We need to do an original song to do the open-mic.", Ashton snorted.
I wasn't sure at all whether I should say what I did or not. If I say that I write songs all the time then it wouldn't be my secret anymore, but if I didn't say it then we would miss our chance to become who we always wanted to be.
"Calum writes songs.", Mali who was silent for most of the trip blurted out. She looked at me and mouthed "sorry".
"Really? You never said anything about it. Well, it's your buisness not our's anyways. Anyways, maybe we could do the open-mic?", Ashton said, "Or how about we wait until we ask Michael?" We all nodded and continued walking after Luke pocketed the flyer.
Luke walked next to me and grabbed my hand. He then began to hold it. He whispered something into my ear.
"Write a song about me?"
"Already did."
