The Myth of Y/N (Korra X Reader)

WELCOME TO REPUBLIC CITY

Earth. Fire. Air. Water.

Growing up in the South Pole, me and my best friend, Avatar Korra, often fantasised about the numerous adventures we would go on in a effort to bring balance to the world. Travelling around, fighting bad guys, meeting new friends, and saving many lives. We both promised that we will always look out for each other, no matter what happened. That all changed when Korra and I first arrived in Republic City.

As this was the start of Korra's legend, this was the day that begun the end of our promise...and our friendship.

BOOK ONE: AIR

Y/N'S POV

Today was the day. Korra's firebending test. She has been going on about it for the past few weeks and from what I have seen, she has definitely mastered firebending. Honestly I'm not even that surprised, Korra was always skilled in bending the elements. Hell she was able to bend earth, fire and water at the age of four, of course I'm unsurprised. Still, that doesn't mean it was boring. On the contrary, it was exhilarating. The White Lotus wouldn't allow me in their compound, since apparently I would be "distracting" her. Oh please, most of the time it's her distracting me! That didn't stop me from sneaking in and watching from above. And boy am I glad I did, she's kicking ass out there! Dodging, parrying, launching gulfs of flames that send her opponents flying, this is awesome!

Another bonus from sneaking in is the fact that I am close enough to hear what her teachers think of her. All aboard the gossip train!

"She's strong" said Master Katara.

Oh she definitely is. I can feel my mouth forming a wide grin.

"She lacks restraint", the grouchy old White Lotus leader replied.

Perhaps, but you can't deny that her moves are a sight to behold.

However it appears that I was too much in my own head, as I was brought back to reality by a cheering Korra. She did it, she passed her firebending test!

Okay, now that's done, I should probably get back home before any White Lotus members spot me. It was pretty easy really, Korra showed me many times when I helped to sneak her out of here, or when she snuck me in. I don't know whether that shows how skilled we are or how poor the security is. It's probably the former. Honestly I wouldn't even consider it "sneaking in"anymore, more like a "unknown visit". Honestly, it is so easy!

"Hey you!"

...

Okay maybe it isn't that easy.

I turn around and spot a White Lotus guard staring into my soul.

"Uh, hey there" I nervously said. For spirits sake, the one time I get caught is on one of the most important days of Korra's life.

The White Lotus member sighed. "Come on Y/N, this is the fifth time we caught you sneaking around here".

Okay maybe I lied...sorry.

"Look I'm sorry, I really am, but today was Korra's firebending test! You expect me not to be there supporting her?"

"You know the rules Y/N, come with me" the guard said, completely ignoring my defence (a pretty strong one too!).

I groaned. Great, this is going to be embarrassing.

As the guard and I approached the White Lotus leaders, Master Katara, and Korra, I think I heard one of them mentioning Master Tenzin. Wait, does this mean Korra is going to start her airbending training? Oh man I bet she is so excite-
