Walking along the banks of the river were a runner, found Walles' body floating faced down on the water, so pale he was nearly violet in color. She was observing the place and looking along the water and realized that when she came here once that there weren't much rocks showing on the surface, then realized that it must've been high tide when she came around the park.
"Larry Walles lives at Bent St. East Cambridge..." Aubrey approached the small brunette, her hands shoved inside her pocket as Boston was in its cold climate again,"I had Cynthia looked inside his apartment to see if he was murdered there, but his tenant said something about not seeing the man for two days straight."
Beca frowned at that,"Chloe just told me that his estimated time of death is around noon yesterday, so that could only mean he was kidnapped." The brunette grumbled as she looked down on the muddy banks,"This is getting closer to the 'black market theory' Jesse's talking about."
The blonde woman chuckled but said nothing as some of their colleagues continued to look around the area. Beca noticed Aubrey becoming quiet though after mentioning the name of her ex and Beca sighed, looking at the view of the Science Museum not that far from the park.
Giving her thoughts a go, Beca asked,"How's your thought process about this whole thing you've got going on?"
Aubrey turned to look at her before she took her hands out of her coat pockets and rather crossed her arms to try and better shield herself from the cold,"Jesse just texted me this morning that he thought things through, and that he won't stop trying to get me back again until I find myself someone who loves me more than he could." Aubrey sighed tiredly at that.
Beca frowned, her friend sounded kinda douche-baggy for saying that and pressuring Aubrey to find someone for him to stop,"Do you want me to tell him to back off?" Aubrey snorted but looked down as she shook her head, no.
"I rode the elevator up our floor with Stacie... She was bummed after I told her that I think," The older blonde trailed,"That I want to spend some time being accustomed to myself, alone... On my own, again." Aubrey rolled her eyes as if she herself found that ridiculous, but sigh as she reminded herself she needed it.
"That's good, Bree." Beca told her as her attention was caught by an investigating cop raised his hand and signalling that he found something.
"It's a phone..." He pressed the on button, and despite it being dipped in water for too long, the device turned on and they immediately inspected it,"Larry J. Walles."
"Bring this to the lab immediately," She ordered the guy,"Make sure Amy receives it and tell her to make sure everything is looked into it." She added in a rush as her phone vibrated and told Beca she had an incoming call,"Talk to me."
"Beca," It was Chloe on the other line, sounding pleased at the brunette's immediate response.
The brunette frowned and realized she didn't look at the caller ID,"What is it?"
"I found something that might interest you," The redhead quickly stated,"Apparently, there's this device that could be used to make an incision on a human or any animal that could suck its blood directly from the victim or donor's veins on the neck that are of course has a route from the heart... It's sold on Amazon with a rapidly decreasing stock, which is incredibly weird." Beca chuckled at Chloe's confusion at people's weird behavior, but the brunette silently wishes those things weren't used for anything illegal.
"And? How is this even legal?"
"And of course it leaves a mark like a vampire fang, but the mark, unlike vampire marks that are only 3 inches apart, it leaves a 4 inches gap between each wound, which of course indicates that it is the device used on Larry," The brunette is betting to herself that Chloe just picked up a ruler and measured it,"I thought so, it's four inches apart. How its legal? Who knows."
