Staring at the blank screen of an open document, Beca grumbled as she couldn't seem to think of how to start writing her report paper. Whenever she tries to create words in her head, her mind would wander to her girlfriend; her fiery red locks, her symmetrical features, her perfectly piercing blue eyes, her unwavering smile and it was driving Beca nuts for the pass four hours since she came home from the Hospital.
Chloe had just started to get quite and unresponding and it made Beca frustrated because she was sure she didn't do anything wrong. She knew women are prone to being moody and all in all a pain in the ass, but she didn't think she'd experience that without doing anything wrong. And miscommunication was a thing, she knows that, but she's pretty sure she's doing her fucking best to get where they miscommunicated there.
Glaring at her personal computer, the brunette aggressively stood up from the couch and begun to pace on her living room, picking up a tennis ball on the way, and as a habit she had picked up on her mother Debbie, begun to mumble angrily about whatever came into her head as she threw the ball from side to side.
Chloe was being an ass right now and she was pissed about it. She was sure they were perfectly fine last night and things ended on a good note other than Martha Morrison gutting the hell out of Larry Walles, but here they were now, not together and seemingly, with no reason, were fighting.
They two perfectly consenting adults, this shit is so confusing.
Not knowing what to think anymore, she called an old friend,"What a fucking surprise, you always pop up when I'm fucking someone."
Beca cringed at that,"For fuck's sake Tamsin, get off Bo for at least once in your life and help me with this shit."
"The only time I get off Bo is when you call me and need my help with some shit... I'm pretty sure you don't need help carving Jack O' Laterns for this years Halloween, eh?"
"I'm too busy to even look at the calendar," The brunette answered as she made a sneaky glance at her digital clock that also showed the date and saw that it was in fact, nearing Halloween.
"What does she fucking need," Beca heard from the other line and scowled.
"Great... Now I have to tell this feeling more humiliated than I need be."
Bo chuckled from the other line, the two putting on robes as they spoke with the brunette on the phone,"What is it, hobbit? What's got your feelings in a knot?"
"I kind of got into a quarrel with my girlfriend." The detective sheepishly confessed.
"Damn, Chloe?" Tamsin asked,"But you two know each other so much, I didn't think you'd even fight about anything."
"Believe me, I didn't think so too." Beca replied, frowning,"One minute we were fine then the next she was quiet and avoiding me."
Bo hummed,"Sounds to me like she's not feeling it anymore and thinking of breaking up with you,"The raven haired girl yelped at feeling the slap Tamsin delivered on her arm,"What? Gina acted like that once and then the next thing I know, I was single and broke."
Beca felt her heart skip a beat at that, a bad skip. So Chloe was going to break up with her? Did she realize something that morning... Maybe she had met someone that morning?
"Why would you put that in her head?" Tamsin said on the other line, talking to Bo, and the tell tale sound of the 'ow' from Bo told the brunette that she received a smack from the blonde girl,"Don't listen to her, Beca... I'm sure Chloe is just going to some woman stuff, you know we get kinda distant sometimes, even with friends,"Tamsin tried to assure her, but the damage was done, Beca couldn't help but think that Chloe's just a gap away from breaking up with her,"Don't fuss yourself by thinking too much of it."
"Yeah..."The brunette shook her head, trying to think otherwise,"Yeah... Thanks for listening." She took her phone of her ear.
"Wait, Beca...!" The detective had already hang up, so Tamsin looked down at her girlfriend with a glare.
"What?" Bo asked innocently,
Picking up a pillow, Tamsin slapped her with it.
Beca decided to sleep it off. Looking back at the clock, she noticed it was already 1 in the afternoon. Maybe she'll talk to Chloe tomorrow morning.
Laying on her own bed, Chloe signed out of work after Jane took her back at the HQ. She can't stop thinking of what the old woman said. As a child she grew up to be religious, she was taught to always be herself because it will make her happy. But since she was a little girl, she was also always conscious of what other people think of her, of the ideals of the society. And right now, what's bothering her is the status of her position and thoughts of her relationship with Beca.
She loves the brunette, without a doubt, but was it really right? What says that Beca would still be gay in ten years? She wasn't sure, she heard of stories. Of gayness being a phase, she didn't want to assume or think with disagreement, anything was possible, people can change their gender to what they're comfortable with. What if this was just a casual relationship for Beca, that Chloe loves Beca more than the brunette does, what if Chloe ends up hurting.
Martha Morrison's words triggered all this thoughts in her mind. Both her and Beca are Roman Catholics. Both of them believed in God and were familiar of his commandments. Chloe was sure she's gay and that she's incredibly in love with Beca Mitchell.
But was Beca Mitchell also incredibly in love with her?
Chloe knew that Beca's grand gestures and constant words of love should confirm this, but Chloe couldn't stop from thinking that Beca deserved better than her. That the brunette seemed too good to be true.
The redhead groaned and rubbed her face as she cursed her jumbled feelings.
She doesn't wanna dwell with it anymore, she barely had sleep that morning as she went early to open Dr. Walles body and everything was emotionally tiring that day too, so it left Chloe exhausted.
Turning on her side, Chloe took a pillow from her head and hugged it close to her chest, thinking of how she'll explain her avoidance to Beca tomorrow.
As she started to drift off, her phone beeped once, but Chloe was too tired to bother picking it up. It was simple message from Beca that could've eased or worsened Chloe's worries if it were to be read by the redhead.
"I love you from the moon to the depths of the ocean floors."
