Eventually, Maia got the strength to get up, but she didn't stop staring at the photo. With shaky hands she placed the photo on the table in front of her and kept looking at it, she didn't cry anymore because she had no more tears left. She was so wrapped up in looking at the picture she didn't hear when the door opened and someone sat in front of her. "Hey!" Maia shouted and stood up but she was pushed down quickly by two men.

"I'll take this, you might get it back if you answer some questions." The guy in front of her said putting the photo inside his coat pocket, Maia clenched her fist as she was thinking about how she can steal the picture but it was as if someone was reading her mind because she felt a squeeze on her shoulder, she looked to her left to see the guard that pushed her down give her a sick smile, it made Maia shiver. It looked similar to a HYDRA smile which proved to Maia that this was HYDRA, that was just as bad. "Now, in your file from HYDRA it doesn't list you as an agent but I don't believe that. One of my guys told me that you said you were a prisoner but you can't believe that none of us believe that, can you?"

Maia didn't answer, she just stared straight ahead. "If you're not gonna talk then listen, we don't want to hurt you but we will if you don't tell us where HYDRA is hiding. You're already looking at prison at Rikers which I admit is more than you deserve but if you answer our questions we can get you into New State Prison." Maia huffed and crossed her arms, the agent in front of her nodded and the guards grabbed her arms.

She screamed and thrashed, she was excepting pain but she heard a click then her arm was released, she tugged on her arm but couldn't that's when she realized they handcuffed her back to the table again, just like before. "If you want me to talk" Maia's voice wavered as she spoke. "I'll talk to the blonde agent, and I wasn't an Agent but you would know that." Maia was fighting against the part of her brain that told her needed to act right because this was a test but Maia couldn't take it anymore.

Maia wanted out, and she would do anything to do it. The agent in front of her sighed before scooting his chair back and placing the files along with the photo that was in his pocket just out of her reach on the other side of the table. "I'll have Ward stay with you until Agent Carter gets here." The way he said Agent Carter's name told Maia that he didn't like her which was interesting to Maia, but she didn't dwell on it she just watched as the agent and the guard on her left side walked out the door, leaving her alone with Ward who was on her right.

Since wherever she was, dulled her powers she couldn't hear what was going on the other side of the door which made the squeak of the shoes behind her all the louder. The Ward guy moved from her right to stand right in front of her so that she was forced to face him, she let out a slight whimper when she saw who it was. "Awh, you scared of me? You should be." Ward said letting out a chuckle, Maia could never forget that face. "I said I would kill you, and here is perfect because I could say you attacked me but S.H.I.E.L.D isn't like HYDRA." Ward took a step towards Maia making her flinch slightly. "Unlike HYDRA they look into every death, even if your unimportant but then they cover it up." Ward held her chin tightly making her grit her teeth. "Are you saying this isn't HYDRA?" Maia managed to get in between her teeth.

"Nope, so if you say anything I'll know. Then I'll kill you like I promised to do." Ward said with a smile on his face, he let go of her chin and patted her on the head a split second before the door started to open. The one from before Agent Carter looked at Ward suspiciously before she nodded her head backward, wordlessly telling him to get out. Ward nodded before looking towards Maia and giving her a wink, then the two women were alone again. "I was told that you would only talk to me, is that correct?" Sharon pressed her lips together as she looked at Maia curiously.

Maia gulped, Ward's words were spinning in her head but she nodded to Sharon despite her brain screaming at her not to. "Right, one thing that you said was that you were a prisoner, can you tell me about that?" Sharon questioned gently, opening the file that was in front of her. "Can I ask a question first?" Maia asked softly, Sharon smiled slightly before nodding her head. "This isn't HYDRA right?:" Sharon frowned before shaking her head quickly, she suddenly stood up making Maia flinch slightly before her eyes followed Sharon towards her, Sharon sighed as she unlocked Maia from the cuffs again. "I promise you, this isn't HYDRA. This is S.H.I.E.L.D we're the good guys."

She didn't know that they were good guys but something told Maia that she can trust Sharon, Sharon was giving her something that she hasn't had in a while. "I am a prisoner, I would go on missions for them as recon to track people and sometimes I would have to take the hard path but I would never murder anyone." Sharon hummed as she wrote something in Maia's file before turning to a new page. "Now it tells me here that they had you find The Winter Solider, but you said the asset got away from you. Now something tells me that was uncommon right? They even put a question mark here, why didn't they believe you?" Maia gulped, she had to keep this to herself but Sharon's eyes told her to tell the truth, so she did.

"I lied, I lied to HYDRA for the first time."
