Unfortunately, they couldn't live in the bubble forever, Sharon went to work and a few days later Maia considers it a success because they haven't broken up yet. She's been walking on eggshells trying not to do anything that could piss off Sharon and make her think that this was a terrible idea and it's working. So when Agent Crawford knocked on her apartment door in the early hours of the morning at 8 am she was frozen with fear. "Can I come in?" The agent asks making Maia jolt back to reality, she nods and stepped aside so she can come in. Maia was lucky that she was wide awake when Sharon got out of bed this morning for work and decided to go ahead and get ready for the door or else she would be meeting her new Case Worker in pajamas.
"Sorry, I have to ask. Is everything alright? Sharon, is she okay?" Maia gulped as she waited for Agent Crawford the answer, She smiled at Maia before nodding quickly. "She's perfectly fine, she told me you were awake so I thought I would come and meet you. Is now an okay time?" Agent Crawford asks adjusting the files that she was holding in her arms. Maia couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief, she ran a hand through her hair that she messily did this morning by putting her front strands in the back with a clip. "Yes, now is fine. Can I get you something to drink? Coffee? Water?" Maia didn't drink coffee but has it on hand for Sharon, Maia doesn't like the way Coffee makes her feel. It sends her senses into overdrive and it takes only Sharon for Maia to hear the silence again.
"Uh no thank you, can I sit?" Agent Crawford nods her head towards the chair that she was standing near, Maia nodded her head as she walked towards the couch and took a seat. She took a few calming deep breathes as she could hear Agent Crawford's heart beating, Maia noticed that it was fast or indicating that she was scared of her, it was just normal which made Maia feel a little bit more comfortable knowing that Agent Crawford wasn't coming in with a perceived notion that Maia isn't a good person. "So, let's get down to business." Agent Crawford said as she crossed her legs, she sent Maia a smirk but her face dropped when she noticed that Maia didn't do anything.
"You need to tell Sharon to make you watch Mulan." She said as she opened the file on her lap, Maia was confused but she nodded anyway vowing to ask Sharon what Agent Crawford means when she got home. "I've put in a request to get S.H.I.E.L.D to take off your monitor, I have a very high feeling that they will accept considering all that you've been through. They would still want you to check in often and I will be by periodically to check up on you and see how you are doing with all the changes. Is that something you're okay with?" Agent Crawford looks up at Maia after reading her file making sure Maia was listening.
"Are you saying you can get my monitor off, Agent Crawford?" Maia was in shock as she looked at her. Agent Crawford smiled before nodding. "Please, call me Theo and I sure am going to try my hardest. If they decline then we will have to wait a little bit before putting in another request. In that time we can work on getting you a job if you would like, if they decline the job would make you look better so S.H.I.E.L.D knows that you know how to support yourself. It says on your chart that you had a job at 15 before you were captured, is that correct?" Maia nodded quickly. "I worked at a little corner shop that my Dad owned in Puerto Rico, that was the only job I've had."
Theo writes something on the file before flipping the page. "Okay, so whenever you are ready if you are we can talk about that and get that in motion if it would be something you are interested in. Now, you are in a relationship with Agent Carter, right?" Theo asks looking at Maia through her lashes with her pen in hand. "Yes, we've been only dating for like a week but my accident kinda made me realize my feelings for her." Theo nodded before quickly scribbling something. "I know you've been asked this loads of times but my boss wants me to ask it again. Do you know where Agent Lewis is?" Maia quickly shakes her head. "I would tell someone if I did, She's always hated me and I don't know why. One day she would treat me nicely but then she would hate me the next, but even when she was being nice I knew that it was a trap." Theo hummed as she started to write down what Maia said.
"Would you be interested in seeing a psychiatrist?" Maia licked her lips as she leaned back against the couch to think about what Theo said. "I don't know, it would be monitored right?" Maia asks twiddling her fingers that were in her lap. "Yes and no, things about your time with HYDRA would be sent over to S.H.I.E.L.D but anything personal like family things or thoughts wouldn't be sent out. Our psychiatrist would decide what is relevant and go from there." It didn't sound fun to Maia but she knew that if she wanted to get better, she was going to have to get help. "Can I think about it?" Maia asked Theo softly, she lets out a sigh of relief when Theo smiles and nods. "Of course, I don't want you to feel any pressure to say yes to anything, and don't worry, I'm almost done with my questions."
