So sorry for the long wait, I was doing NANOWRIMO again and go a LOT of writing done for the rewrite :) I'll be continuing a Nanowrimo format of writing for the rest of december to see if I get a good first draft of the rewrite by Christmas :) I'll try to update again before Christmas but no promises!

SIDE NOTE: I will be adding Dylan+Riley AFTER chapters in addition to the Mel+Jasper's POV. I want you guys to get to know them more :)

Mel

When I woke up, I didn't recognize my surroundings. Jasper was there, across the way sitting in a wooden chair looking out the blacked out window. When I tried to sit up, he was next to me in a second, pushing me back down gently.

"I'm fine," I forced out, but my body was screaming in pain and exhaustion. I know I'm in no condition to be out and walking. But I couldn't stay here and do nothing.

Someone killed the First Lady and they were framing me for it.

"No you're not," Jasper's voice is soft, but strained. "Just relax for a minute."

"Where's Riley?" I asked, looking around. Dylan was missing too but hopefully he went back to the states and would finally leave me alone.

Jasper bit the inside of his cheek. "He went out with Dylan-" ugh "- Piink left us instructions on who to talk to to get us things here. And they decided to check in with their bosses too." I nodded and fell back to the couch. I couldn't help but study's Jasper's face. There was something he wasn't telling me.

"What is it?"

He opened his month but closed it again, shaking his head.

"Jasper."

He stood up abruptly, like he was done with the conversation. But we weren't even having a conversation. "Just- don't move until Riley gets here."

"Wait-"

He left me alone. I stared at the hallway he disappeared to, confused. Maybe he finally decided I was the villain after all. I didn't care. I had to find out who was setting me up. That was the priority.

I didn't care.

And I kept telling myself I didn't care as I forced myself to my feet and followed him to the cement room.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you mad at me all of a sudden?"

Jasper stared at me, his eyebrows raised in question. I was right, he was mad.

"All of a sudden? All of a sudden? Melody you lied to me for weeks about the Medinas coming after you!"

Oh. I felt my face warm at the sight of his angry face. I didn't have time for this.

"Jasper-"

"I made a decision to follow you and to help you prove you didn't kill Melissa and I've all found out is you've been lying to me for months. While we were dating! "

I stepped closer to him, letting my own frustration out too.

"You're going to talk to me about lying after we just got picked up by an assassin?" I snapped but my comment only made him more angry. He stepped closer too.
