Jasper

I was covered in blood for three hours. A mixture of both Dylan and Agent Fay's blood stained my shirt until it turned brown. When the shooters were dead and Dylan was taken away in an ambulance, I was forced into a black SUV. When I reached the White House, my father and Melissa was already in the Bunker, waiting for me.

No matter how much I cried and screamed to see the injured, they ignored me. They wouldn't tell me anything. I couldn't talk to anyone or know Dylans condition. It was frustrating. They had my dad in a meeting since we entered the bunker and they pretty much did everything but tie to up to a chair to keep from bursting in there and demanding answers.

They wouldn't let me call Melody either. Agent Fay assured me he would make sure she was safe, though.

I hated the guy but something told me I could count on him. He took down all three of the shooters alone. I owed him more than my pride would let me.

But sitting here alone was driving me crazy. Every time I blinked all I saw was Dylan, shielding me with his body at the school. The rest of my classmates screaming and running.

All because of me.

Agent Vega poked his head out of the meeting room, sending me flying to feet. My father didn't step out though, just Agent Vega, He was holding a SAT phone.

"Dylan?"

Agent Vega nodded his head. "Agent Carter just called us with an update. He's out of surgery, and there were some difficulties in the surgery-"

"What kind of difficulties?"

Agent Vega looked sick. "What kind of difficulties, Vega?" I asked again, unable to control myself. "He flatlined twice but they got him back. He's fine now but he still hasn't woken up. All we gotta do is wait." I almost didn't hear the last part.

He died twice. He died twice because of me.

I couldn't breathed.

Agent Vega must have seen my panicked looked because he rushed to my side. "Jasper. I need you to take deep breathes for me, son." He pressed his hand on my back and although his directions were simple enough, I couldn't move.

"Dylan died because of me," I forced the words out even though my chest hurt. Agent Vega shook his head.

"Jasper, Dylan is fine now, okay. I need you to breath for me. Do I need to call 911?" I shook my head and dropped to the ground before my feet gave out on their own. I focused on breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth.

By the time my dad came out of his room, I was feeling better but sweat was still rolling down my face.

"What happened?" he asked, looking down at me worried. I pulled myself up.

"Nothing," I answered before Agent Vega did, but he wasn't going to let this slide.

"I think Jasper just had a panic attack." I glared at Agent Vega, but he wasn't looking at me. Melissa and my father glanced between me and Agent Vega.

"Is that true?"

I shrugged it off which angered the President.

"Don't pretend this isn't a big deal," my dad snapped. The last few hours he had been in meeting. Whatever calm composure he had to keep up was breaking down.
