*unedited, as always*

Jasper

Melody locked herself in her room after the call. I barely got in two words before she walked by me, closed the door and didn't come out. I've been pacing outside her door since. We had three hours before we had to meet Riley and Dylan and for the first time I wasn't so sure what I was doing here.

When I grew tired of pacing, I threw myself at a couch and I stared at the door. For moment, you could hear nothing in the whole safe house. Melody wasn't moving in her room. I wasn't moving.

At first, it was hard to breathe. My thoughts were jumbled. I tried counting down to slow everything down but the technique October taught me weren't working. Nothing was calming down.

I was so mad.

Melody set out to find information to started a new life. Why. Why? I thought back to our last conversation. The way she ran up to me in the White House, in her FBI suit, her hair in a pony tail. The way she smiled at me, staring at me unblinking.

I had thought nothing of it. I actually thought she just wanted to see me. I was pathetic. Lonely.

But maybe she just wanted to see me one more time before she disappeared.

Finally the door opened and Melody stared at me from the door frame.

You're mad," she said. She didn't look happy either. "I don't.... I don't know what to say. I want to say I'm sorry but I don't think that's enough right now"

I shook my head ."Do you remember why you would've met with Riley's brother?" I asked her and she shook her head. "Then you can't say you're sorry for something you don't remember planning."

Melody read between the lines. "You won't accept my apology on those terms anyways." I didn't reply. I didn't need too. "Jasper... I don't get it. I've spent the last hour trying to make sense of it. I wasn't planning on coming here, to Mexico. I went to see you and then... nothing."

I saw my opportunity. "Then why did you come to see me?" Melody opened her mouth than thought better of it.

"It doesn't matter now," she said instead, looking her feet. And here I thought getting information from her was going to get easier and easier.

"It matters to me," I finally said, risking it all. She looked up and read my face. We stared at each other.

"Just drop it."

"No."

She starting rolling on her heels and I was getting tired of her running away from something that she cleared was hiding on purpose. It wasn't about her memory - it had something to do with why we broke up. I felt it. Otherwise, she would tell me. I know she would've. "We have two hours until we meet the guys and-" she brought up her phone. "Oscar found out the location of the video I made."

I wasn't listening. "You can't be serious? you're going to change the conversation?"

"Yes!" She suddenly yelled, anger painted so clearly on her face. "I'm tired of you demanding answers from me about things that don't matter in the moment! I'm wanted for murder, Jasper. And every information I get confuses me more and more and you being here confuses me."

"Me?"

She stepped closer to me in a frenzy. "Yes, because if the Medinas are involve in this, I want you very, very far-"

"Mel-"

"Far away!" She yelled, her chest was rising up and down like she was trying to control her anger. Then her face changed. "But sometimes... I feel like the only thing keeping me from breaking apart is you being here."

"So stop pushing me away," I said, feeling very brave and placed a hand under her chin. "I want to be here, but I can't be here if you're going to keep hiding things from me."

Suddenly her eyes started to swell, tears forming. "You're going to hate me."

I looked at her confused. I wasn't expecting that. Even after everything that's happened, what was so bad that Melody believed I would hate her?

Then she kissed me. A soft, surprising kiss. Like a goodbye. I kissed her back. When we pulled away, I learned my forehead against hers. "What are you doing, Melody?"

She let out a sigh.

But before she confess, a loud sound coming from the TV interrupted us. It was a sound familiar with breaking news, and since I had the tv dubbed in English, I understood the voice that came through.

"Breaking news, we just received a tip that Melissa Cross, the first lady of the United States." Both of us pulled away and turned our attention to the TV. Then I saw something that made my stomach turn. It was a picture of Melody... and me with the word WANTED clearly written across. The voice explained that they had no confirmation from the President's office, but the video Melody taking the First Lady into the Oval Office with a gun and a street video of me entering the car at the measure was played.

"Holy shit," Melody whispered.

"We have rumors that these lovebirds have fled to our country to get away from their crime. And the motive? Our anonymous tipper said that The First Lady was an obstacle in their love so they got rid of her. If you see these two murderers, please call-"

Melody started moving and I didn't have time to process anything. She returned to her room and started looking for a duffle bag. She started throwing things into it and immediately I understood what was happening.

She was leaving

I reached out and grabbed her arm, stopping her in the middle of the room.

"Where do you think you're going to go? Lets just wait for Riley and Dylan and we can all come up with a plan."

"I'm done waiting around here and doing nothing!" Melody exclaimed, pulling her arm out. "Don't you get it? They saw Riley and Dylan at the "police" They sent that as a warning to me - the secret service didn't send that, they wouldn't have. Now the police have a reason to track me-

"Us," I corrected. "They made me a part of the plan too, Mel. We're into this together. So let's just wait-"

"No." She was firm on this and went back to packing. "I've wasted enough time letting everybody else dictate what I need to do. I've sitting here doubting everyone and everyone and myself and I'm not going to do it anymore. You can stay here if you want, but I'm leaving. And I'm leaving without Riley and Dylan."

I watched as she finished packing, pulling out weapons from every corner of the room and decided.

If she was leaving, I was leaving with her. So I went into my room and started packing. I had less things than her and no weapons so I finished faster. When I zipped up the bag, I looked up and saw Melody at the frame.

"Are you sure about this, Jasper? You can stay, you can go back with Dylan and.. and they'll do what they need to do. Just like me. I understand, so don't think you have to stay if you don't want to."

"You think you're the only one that needs help not breaking?" I finally said, making sure she saw the determination in my eyes. Then she nodded. "Where are we going?"

She held up her phone. "Where the video was shot," She paused. "Where I was taken."
