[A/N : I am skipping to the last part of their battle avoiding the earlier bloodshed after Oda entered the Mimic's Headquarters. Also, about Gide and Odasaku's past lives that they shared a conversation about. I won't be writing in details.]

✧------✧------✧------✧------✧

Odasaku's pov :

It was a huge bunglow with a spacious banquet hall in the center at the top most floor. It was huge and it was the Mimic's Headquarters. While I entered the building, I already killed most of their men.

Time passed and..

Several gunshots continued for hours. It was terrible battle. I was shooting down all the Mimic soldiers and the Mimic's Leader, Gide was killing all the Mafia's members; those operatives that Dazai and Emily sent were dying.

Gide told me about his story, he told me a long passage in between our fight about how he fought in the battlefield during the great wars years ago, being a soldier.

Becoming a soldier, protecting his homeland, fighting for the people who lived on the soil he grew up on, he believed that dying for them was his only destiny.

However, Gide was only being used during the warfare. After the end of the war, they were just roaming war criminals with no homeland and no shelter.

So, most of them in Gide's squad committed suicide. Gide's ideals were different.
Soldiers or Armies; despite losing their comrades or fighting and getting injured, they still stand up again.
Gide was same because he was one of them too and he want to receive a death to make him worthy of being a soldier.

He told me everything and I could definitely understand how he felt even after he is my enemy right now. I told my story as well, why I wanted to become a writer or what future I seek for.

Time goes indefinitely. Between the two of us, we continue to see what the other us about to say one step ahead of the other. Maybe it was our powers that were allowing us to see the future.

Indeed, Ango's words were true and this is what he meant ny 'Singularity of Ability.' -- When two same powers clashes together, it creats imbalance and the user loses controls over his ability.

Gide and I felt like we both were in a different world where as in the real world I was still shooting the Mimic's soldiers and Gide was taking down the Mafia's members. It felt like we were in the world of Future.

"It's almost time for it to end." Gide said.

"Tell me, Gide." I spoke up as we both were pointing our guns at each other, "Did you all never think of searching for a different place? Couldn't you have changed your lifestyles midway? Besides seeking death on the battlefield as soldiers, is there no other way?" I asked.

"Change our lifestyle midway? I couldn't do that sort of thing." Gide smiles, "I swore to my partners that I would die as a soldier. Anything other than that would be impossible."

It seems like our muzzles are aimed at one another in the real world. But due to the overlapping of our uncontrollable powers, we still remained in the fake world conversing with each other.

Gide looks at me. I can see the sincerity in his gaze.

"But....it may be possible. If we had changed our lifestyles at an earlier time, we might have been able to become something other than soldiers... just like how you stopped killing. If I was as strong as you, perhaps one day, I too....."

There are only two people alive in the great hall now. It was me and Gide. All the Mafia members and the soldiers were killed in the real world.

Our muzzles are aimed at each other.
