"Good morning, Ma'am Vien," the guard greeted as I stepped inside the restaurant.
"Good morning," I greeted back. "Jake, pakilinis ng isang table sa labas. Pati 'yong sahig, may natapon na pasta at drinks."
Tumango siya sa akin at sumaludo. "Yes, Ma'am..." Umiling na lang ako habang nakangiti, he always does that.
I went into my office and put my bag on the swiveling chair. There were so many customers outside, probably because it's a lunch time already. I had a meeting earlier with Mrs. Montemayor—a successful business woman. She was inviting me for the seminar next week.
It was his first day as a kinder student. He was so excited earlier while I was packing his lunch. He loves food and he loves to eat.
But I was still the one who prepared everything for my son.
After checking my e-mails, I went into the kitchen and helped them prepare the orders. They were panicking and they were working faster than usual. Albeit we haven't reached the half of our day yet, I knew they were tired already but a smile was still plastered on their faces.
Close rin sila sa isa't isa and that's one of the things I've learned from the seminars I've attended to. It's very important to practice a good communication with the people around you especially at work. Of course, they're the ones you're going to be with and it's kind of fun to work when you are friends with your co-workers.
Work isn't just about working per se, it's also about learning how to build a good communication.
But I'll try to bring him here some other time, tinotopak kasi minsan 'yon, eh..."
"He misses his friends... Pati si Adam," sagot ko sa kanila. I walked towards the serving hatch window and pressed the bell twice. Agad na may lumapit na waiter. "Table 12 and 24," I said.
Nag-ingay sila dahil do'n.
I leaned against the food preparation table and crossed my arms. "We're just friends, ano ba kayo? Nothing more, nothing less." I frowned when they began to tease me even more. Ugh!
I furrowed my brows and smiled at the customers as I made my way outside the restaurant. "Bakit, Kuya? Nagkaproblema ba?"
