Chapter 25

I wake up the next morning then realise it's Christmas eve.
"Merry Christmas eve babe." I say whilst straddling Nat, waking her up with a kiss.
"Merry Christmas eve котенок." She says with a smile. "What do you wanna do today?" She asks as she grabs my hips to steady me.
"Last minute shopping?" I say with a smile.
"Okay, let's get dressed and we'll go after breakfast." She says. We get dressed. I wear Nat's hoodie, which was pretty much mine now, and a white graphic tee and a long sleeve black top underneath and some blue jeans. I put on some socks and my black vans.

I head downstairs and Nat made us some toast. We eat and then get into her car and head to town. We go into some of the stores and buy some stuff. I get a deer ornament for me and Nat's room, and a cactus with a snowman pot, and a Grinch plush. We get some other stuff and head back and get there at 10:32am. We had left quite early and got around all the stores quite quickly.
"How are you feeling, котенок?" Nat asks as we get back into our room with all the stuff we bought.
"Better than yesterday, I just feel like a disappointment to them, though I know that they're bad people." I say as I put up the light up deer ornament.
"You're not a disappointment, you're perfect and it sucks that they can't see that." Nat says. She gets out the Grinch plush and puts it on our bed. I put the cactus on the window sill.
"Thank you, you always know how to make me feel better, I love you." I say.
"You're my girlfriend, it's my job, and I love you more." She says, putting her arms around me.
"Not possible." I say as I lean in for a kiss.
"I don't know what I'm walking into, so my eyes are closed. Tony says to come downstairs."
Wanda says, her hand covering her eyes. I laugh at Wanda.
"We'll be down in a sec Wands." I say.
"I'm leaving now." She says, her hand was still covering her eyes. I lean in and kiss Nat one more time then grab her hand and we walk out.

"What's up?" Nat asks as we get into the main room.
"I'm declaring war. On Steve. Snowball fight, 20 minutes, be ready." Tony says.
"Wait! Whose team are we on?" I ask.
"Nat, Clint, Bucky and Sam are on Steve's team. On mine are Peter, Carol, Wanda and Y/N." He says.
"Damn it." Wanda says. I laugh at her.
"You're going down Nat." Clint says as he leaves with the rest of Steve's team.
"If you guys make me lose, I'm gonna give you the bad missions." Tony says.
"Wait. That's not fair." Carol says.
"Yes it is." Tony says before leaving.

"You ready for this?" Carol asks.
"Born ready." I laugh. We go outside to see the two teams lined up.
"You get hit, you're out. 3. 2. 1." Tony says. Someone had set up the front of the Avengers compound so there were places to duck. I run behind some oil drums then start to roll balls. I stand up and throw a snowball, hitting Sam square in the chest. I then duck down again, a snowball misses my head.
"Come on!" He shouts defeatedly. He walks to the side to see who's going to win. Peter then gets hit by Steve and he leaves. We're one down on each side now. I see Tony get hit and poke my head out to see who hit him, it was Steve, who also got hit, presumably by Tony. 3 left on each side. I run over to where Carol and Wanda were ducking.

"Wanda, you get Bucky. Y/N, you're on Nat. I'll get Clint. I need revenge for my $30." Carol says.
"Okay." I agree.
"Alright." Wanda says. I roll over to my previous position and see Wanda get up to try and hit Bucky, but someone was too quick and hits her.
"Damn it." She says. She walks over. 3 v 2. I am NOT getting the bad missions. Carol gets up with 3 snowballs in one hand and uses the other to grab and aim. She manages to miss any snowballs thrown at her until she gets hit and walks over to the side, cursing at her loss. I see that Clint and Bucky were also out now, she had managed to hit them. This just leaves Nat...

"Не произойдет Tasha. (Ne proizoydet - Not gonna happen Tasha)" I reply. I sneak around over to Nat's side without her noticing. I'm light so I don't make much noise on the snow. Nat was getting a large pile of snowballs ready, so I take this as an opportunity and throw one at her. I miss and her head turns to me rapidly.
"Подлый. (podlyy - Sneaky)" Nat says as she grabs a snowball from her pile and throws it at me. I gasp dramatically.
"детка, ты предал меня! (detka, ty predal menya - babe, you betrayed me!)" I say.
"Sorry about that котенок." She says with a smirk. She stands up and pulls me into a hug. I don't reciprocate it. She pulls away and gives me a 'really?' look. I sigh and hug her.
"Bad missions for you then Y/N." Tony says.
"Wait! You were serious about that?" I say.
"Yup." He says. "I'm cold, do you guys wanna order some lunch?" He says. Everyone agrees and we decide to get Subway.

We go inside and Wanda makes everyone hot chocolates. The sandwiches arrive and we eat whilst watching Elf. I was sitting on the corner of the sofa on top of Nat, her legs were off the sofa and mine were on it in the other direction. I had my head resting on her shoulder after I ate.

My phone starts buzzing and pinging with texts, everyone looks at me as it's annoying.
"Sorry." I say as I grab my phone out of my pocket and turn it on silent. I see texts from Zoey, my cousin.

Zoey:
I'm at your parents house for Christmas with the rest of the fam, your parents said you're out of the family, what happened? Are you okay?

Me:
I don't know Zo. I think I'm fine, they got pissed off because I got Alec arrested.

Zoey:
Wait what how?

Me:
My girlfriend is one of the Avengers and she had this mission that meant she found out about Alec doing illegal activity and he got arrested.

Zoey:
Me and Matt aren't supposed to talk to you anymore. They think you've betrayed them.

Me:
Zo, please don't stop talking to me.

Zoey:
Of course I won't, but I don't know what to do.

Me:
Neither do I. Did I make a mistake? Are you mad at me?

Zoey:
I think you did the right thing, I've agreed with you since we were kids and you told me about thinking all of this was wrong. And I'm not mad at you, Y/N/N.

Me:
Alright, I've gotta go. Thank you Zo.

Zoey:
Bye Y/N/N. Have fun with this girlfriend of yours ;)

I smile at my phone as I put it in my pocket.
"Everything okay котенок?" Nat whispers to me.
"Yeah, it was my cousin, Zoey." I whisper back.

At around 2pm, we turn off the movies and sit and talk for a while. I really like it here, the others have made me feel so welcome. We eat some take out and then me and Nat head upstairs. Nat lays on our bed and I follow, nuzzling my head into the crook of her neck. We stay in a comfortable silence for a while until Nat starts talking.
"Are you one of those people who wake up ridiculously early on christmas?" She asks.
"Yup." I say with a laugh. "But, I always wake up ridiculously early. Maybe you'll just have to tire me out enough that I won't wake up till much later." I say with a smile.
"Tiring you out can be arranged." Nat says before lifting my head up by my chin to face her.

I think I was way too loud, but how could I not be, Nat is crazy good. It had been around 3 hours and I was pretty tired.
"Mission success." I giggle which leads into a yawn.
"Great. Night котенок." Nat says. She kisses me on my forehead and I fall into a deep sleep.
