Chapter 49

"Everyone clear on what they're doing?" Tony asks as everyone gets in their set position. There is an echo of agreements. I mute mine and Nat's coms.
"Why did you do that?" She asks curiously.
"I love you. I love you so much, don't let them take me." I say in a panicked tone.
"I would never let that happen again, I love you more детка." Nat says as she pulls me in for a hug, kissing the top of my head.
"Not possible." I say into her. I unmute my earpiece, Nat does the same then we break into the vents of the hydra base. I'm trying to not let my emotions get to me.
"You've got this Y/N/N." Nat says to me in a quiet tone.
"I'm sorry if I mess up." I say quietly, prematurely foreshadowing my unknown fate.

"You won't, I'll be right next to you." She whispers back. "Here." She whispers, nodding towards the vent that opens. She kisses my forehead reassuringly before she silently takes off the vent grate and places it to the side. She drops down without a sound. I follow, equally lacking in sound. I see Nat take a hydra agent into a headlock, quietly killing him. I do the same to another, their dead bodies dropping to the ground alerts the other hydra agents. I block a punch to my face and jab the agent in the stomach with a knife, turning to kick another one that I sensed was coming up behind me. I turn my attention back to the first agent and stab him in the neck, turning back to the other one and doing the same to him. It makes me happy seeing them dead, psychotic, I know, but the amount of pain that hydra has put me through, it's worth it.
"Perfect." Nat says as we both look around and the dead bodies. 7. "We'll shut these down then we can go. Tony really outdid himself with these." Nat says as she places the light up sticks into her suit. They're electric and cook anyone who is on the receiving end. She places a usb stick into a computer and uploads the program that shuts down the system. "You alright?" She asks as she waits for the system to shut off.
"Yeah, that was fun. I mean not to sound crazy or anything, but the things they did to me, I think they deserve it." I say.
"You're not crazy детка, perfectly sane in fact." Nat says. "Okay, let's go." She says as she pulls the usb stick out of the computer, sticking it into her utility belt.

We walk through the hallways, taking out any agent we see. Nat nods to a room and we go in there, empty. I sigh a breath of relief. She repeats the process from before and we head out. I feel someone grab me and something cold up against my neck.
"You'd better think carefully about your next actions, Romanoff." Someone says into my ear.
"Let her go." Nat says through gritted teeth.
"Why should I?" He asks.
"You'll end up just like Rumlow." She says.
"What? You're what happened to Rumlow? That's even more reason to kill her." He says. I breathe in and out. I know what I have to do. I'm not completely in control of my powers, but I need to do this. I close my eyes and think about everything that pissed me off. I feel the flames climbing up my arms. "Ah! What the fuck!" He excalims as he feels his skin burning. He lets go of me though that doesn't make much of a difference, he's already on fire. He falls to the floor, his skin peeling apart.
"Jesus, remind me to never piss you off." Nat says.

"Let's go." I say as I walk towards her direction.

"Mission success." I celebrate over the coms.
"Good, we were getting worried." Tony says.

"We'll be back at the compound in a few hours." Nat says as she holds my hand, walking over to a motorbike.
"See you both soon, stay safe." Tony says. We take out our earpieces, our ears hurting after having them in for so long.
"What are you doing?" I ask her.

"We need a way to get back home." Nat says as she hot wires the motorbike.
"And you choose that?" I ask, gesturing toward the vehicle.
"Yup. Just hold on tight to me котенок." she says with a kiss to my forehead. She gets on the motorbike.
"That was hot." I say as I get on behind her. Nat takes a helmet from the bike we're on. She gives it to me and makes sure it's on my head properly.

"What about you?" I ask before she tries to drive off."I don't need one." She says as she starts the bike. "Hold on tight." She says.
