even after the storm, the roof stayed in tact, which is obviously a good thing. another good thing is that y/n is starting to hangout with me again, not with the gang, she said she'll come around and surprise all of them one day.

i lied to darry and told him that i was gonna go for a walk by the hills, he was alright with it as long as i got my blade on me and that my homework was completed. y/n wanted to meet up by jay mountain since that was the first ever spot we hung out on to watch the sunset.

as my feet were getting tired from all this walking, i saw y/n picking up the flowers from the ground with her light fabric skirt flowing through the wind, i picked up the pace and ran over to her. this was the perfect moment where i wrapped my arms around her waist, lifting her off the ground.

"pony!" she rasped. "put me down, curtis!"

"never!" i fought back.

there, i lost balance and we both toppled over, falling on our backs, both of laughing nonstop. as the silence came over us, y/n turned to me with her head resting right on top of her arm and a grin on her face.

"haven't been this happy with you in such a looong time." she says.

"never felt anymore happier." i agreed. "you gonna tell the gang?"

"don't know, probably later." she shrugged. "anyways, i think i'm gonna go with curly to homecoming, he seems like a nice guy but just ya know, doesn't show it like dallas winston does."

"you've got a point, but still, curly isn't really who you think he is." i clarified. "just the other day, he pushed me off my chair in math."

y/n started laughing hard, i missed the way she laughed, the way she shows her pearly whites. y/n then looked at me in the eyes where her ( y/e/c ) glistened, it was like you could hear them just blinging in the sun.

"whatever you say, cowboy's ride." i hated that name, except for when she calls me that. "i'll see what happens and i'll let you know whether or not you were wrong."

"shall we bet on it?" i smirked.

"hell no, i lost $12 last bet." she scoffed.

"oh come on, that was a long long time ago." i complained.

"fine, you're on, curtis. but we keep it simple with $5." she pointed her finger at me, i playfully pretended to act like i was aiming for it with my teeth, making her pull it back.
