Chapter 4: Mission Rescue

Alia and her team had left earlier that week after a very emotional goodbye. I had been spending all week with the rest of Team One to go over worse case scenarios and what if's. We were training harder then ever to prepare ourselves for the journey. And slowly we were saying our goodbyes to everyone and promising to be back soon. Just the word goodbye makes my heart ache and my stomach churn. It made me feel as if we would not be returning home and for me that was not a possibility.

Before long it was the seventh day already and we were expecting Team Two the arrive home at any moment. Everyone was excited to hear what they had found and were praying that they all came home in one piece. But worry was spreading as the day ended and night arrived to take its place. Where were they? They sound of been here by now. These were the thoughts of everyone in Knight Tunnels.

I was pacing my bedroom while Jason sat on my bed reading one of my mothers books. Sounds escaped my lips as I started to sing to try to settle my nerves, this was a bad habit of mine that I had picked up at the early age of 7.

Jason peered at me from above his book. His lips came up into a small smile and with a sigh he sat his book down onto the green covers that lay on my bed. Standing to his feet he walked over to me and grabbed my shoulders to stop me from pacing. However my lips kept moving as I stood there in front of him unable to stop.

“Aria, you need to relax and stop worrying yourself so much. Just take a seat and breath for a second. They are going to be home soon and when they get here you'll just feel silly about worrying so much. She's fine so just calm down, okay?” Jason said as he looked into my eyes in an attempt to get through to me. When I got like this it was hard to get me out.

It took a few minutes but my lips stopped moving, the sound being cut off and replaced with deep calming breaths. He let go of me and I walked over to my bed and plopped down. Jason's smile grew at this and he joined me on my bed, picking his book back up and continued to read.

Just as I was about to lie down my door slammed open. Jumping up I faced the door to see Arrow walk in. His face was blank and emotionless but his eyes told me all I needed to know, something was wrong. I felt a ping in my chest but stayed silent as I waited for him to speak.

“Fay returned home a half hour ago.... alone. Alia and the rest of Team Two have been captured and taken to someplace called The Kingdom. Fay was barley able to escape to return for help.” He paused to take a breath, his eyes started to tear up but he fought them back. “Aria, do you understand what I'm saying? Alia has been taken!” By this point he was beyond angry. Turning around he slammed his fist into my wall causing me to jump back in surprise.

“Arrow! Quit! That is not going to help get her back and it sure wont help you any when we're on the surface trying to find her now will it?! So just stop punching things!” I yelled at him. He was acting like a fool lashing out like that. If he hurt his hand then we would be in big trouble when a fight occurred and one most definitely would.

Turning to me, he gave me a look of surprise and awe. Before I could see it coming he had me in his arms and was spinning me around. We both began to laugh hard, causing our stomachs to hurt and him to set me back on my feet.

“You are truly a genius sis, it completely slipped my mind that we could go to the surface and find them ourselves! This changes everything. There's a better chance of Alia being found now! Aria, I love you so much!” Once again Arrow lifted me up into his arms in a bone crushing hug.

“Crushing_sister_here. Can't_ breath!”

“Oh right. Sorry!” Arrow let go of me and I fell onto the ground gasping. “Oh come on! I did not squeeze you that hard. Don't be such a little girl.”
