Jamie could hardly sleep at all.

He thought that he would pass out after a day like the one before.

However, Dreama's words kept invading his head. Every second he attempted to sleep, he was reminded of this big meeting. He kept telling himself that he'd be okay. That Nexus will be there and hopefully Jamie won't have to speak. He didn't know how he'd be able to say anything if he was asked to.

With that in mind, he tried once again to sleep. He was curled around his egg as a comfort to help him sleep and bond with his dragon. But by time he was asleep, he felt like it was only for a few hours. He was gently woken up by the curtains slowly being pulled back, allowing the morning sun to hit his face. Nexus greeted him and told the boy that breakfast would be ready soon, before shuffling away.

He didn't mention anything about a meeting.

Jamie didn't know how else to feel but betrayed. Nexus still won't tell him about the meeting, so he'll need to confront the man about it.

If he can find his voice to do so.

Not wanting to wait any longer, Jamie hurriedly got dressed. The only thing that was returned to him was Ash's brown jacket while the boots remained where they were, after venturing the walk in wardrobe, he was able to find a shirt and a pair of trousers that would be comfortable to run or even ride a dragon in. He over looked himself and decided that he was presentable enough for the meeting.

Jamie didn't know how he took a few bites out of his breakfast. He was so distracted by the thought of the meeting that he didn't feel hungry. The anxiety and stress was so overpowering that he was involuntarily blocking out the world. He wanted to try to stay out of it but he knew that it wasn't going to be that easy. He tried to hunk of what he needed to say, but he only thought of just one word. He felt like he should run and hide somewhere.

"Jamie, are you listening?"

Jamie dropped his fork, the cutlery bouncing a little on the oak table. He looked up in surprise as Nexus stared at him a little impatiently.

"Pardon?" Jamie stammered. He didn't want to make the elder upset any more than most likely was. Nexus sighed heavily before rubbing his eyes. He muttered something under his breath, but Jamie couldn't hear it. Both were sitting t a large refectory table that was ideal for large gatherings. Nexus was sitting at one end while Jamie was sitting a couple of metres away from him.

"I said that are some important people coming over," Nexus started, regaining his patience. Jamie sat p a little straighter as he heard that. "Sox Island Leaders will be coming for abetting, in regards to what happened yesterday and your egg. It's important that they know about it. They will also need to see you s they'll know who owns this egg."

Now he talks about the meeting.

Jamie felt something bubble up inside him again.

Betrayal and the urge to shout. He bit his tongue to stop himself from saying anything. He didn't want to get into trouble as well as Dreama.

"Do I need to be there? I'm not that important," Jamie asked as he tried to hold his nerve. Stay calm, don't start shouting.

"Yes. Your presence is essential," Nexus said, looking more sympathetic. Jamie looked back down at his scrambled eggs and toast. He tried to ring himself to eat more. He needs all the energy that he can get. "You don't seem too surprised." Jamie felt his heart jump into his mouth. He can't let on that he had a visitor the night before. Dreama could get into serious trouble if she was found out.

"Just trying to stay calm," Jamie said. It wasn't a lie. He really needed to stay calm. Especially if he comes face to face with the Island Leader that Dreama warned him about. Cassandra was her name right? Either way, he needs to try to be careful. Thankfully, Nexus didn't press on the matter further. He only proceeded to drink his tea. Jamie responded by taking small mouthfuls from his food. Stay calm, stay calm. That's all that Jamie could tell himself. He has to stay as focused as he could.
