Compared to the day's events, the night seemed much more peaceful. Almost too peaceful. However, Nexus couldn't feel at peace himself. He hadn't thought that Cassandra would go this far in wiping out the last of Hope's kind. Hope was the last of his kind. To kill him would be an extremely criminal act. As strong as Hope seemed, both he and Jamie were still in danger. No matter how many Dragon Seekers there would be to protect them, the threat surrounding them was still too great. This was proving to be quite worrying.

"Nexus?" a shy voice timidly asked as a breeze blew. Just in time.

"Dreama, good to see you child," Nexus smiled as he knew who it was behind him. He did summon her specifically after all. He turned around, seeing the Night Rider. She was hovering above the ground as she bowed respectfully to the elder. Nexus gestured to the small table in front of him. A tea set was perched peacefully on it, with tea still hot in the cups.

"Same to you," Dreama smiled, gently taking the cup closet to her. Nexus retrieved his own as Dreama peacefully sat on the balcony's railing. They both took a sip, warming up from the coolness of the night. "You wanted to see me?"

"I know that you told Jamie about the meeting today. I don't know how you found out but you did," Nexus answered, getting straight to the point. He wasn't fooled when Jamie spoke to him that morning. He suspected that Jamie had a visitor the previous night. Dreama seemed like a most likely suspect in the case, regarding the information that she shared.

"I know I wasn't supposed to say anything, but-" Dreama started, her posture starting to slouch a likely in shame. Nexus raised a calm hand to stop her apology. She stopped talking and looked a little surprised.

"I'm glad that you did. I think that it helped to prepare Jamie," Nexus smiled. He was proud of how Jamie stood his ground during the meeting. He feared that the boy would run away at the sight of the Island Leaders, especially Cassandra. But Jamie exceeded his expectations and surprised him immensely. Even more so when he stood up to the Island Leaders when they were fighting over his egg and when Cassandra tried to convince him to give in to their temptations. Jamie was stronger than he gave himself credit for.

"Good. I'm glad," Dreama smiled in relief. However, her smile faded. She looked concerned and serious at the same time. "I know about what happened today too. I watched over Nightmare Island for a while. Cassandra isn't best pleased that her plan didn't work. She's preparing to start a war. She plans to attack the Hearts of the Islands. All of them."

"Thank you for telling me this," Nexus said, becoming just as concerned.the Hearts of the Islands we're important. They are what held the islands together. However, since the darkness that Cassandra had released into the world came, it started to affect them. The Hearts were starting to weaken. It was only by a little with small effects, for now. If they were to be attacked, the results would be catastrophic. The world was currently unbalanced enough without Cassandra meddling with the natural worlds on the islands.

"What do you plan to do?" Dreama asked as Nexus took a sip from his tea.

"There's not much that I can do now," he grimly muttered, his brow furrowing. "Except to prepare Jamie. It'll be his toughest challenge yet."

"Then I wish you the best of luck," Dreama smiled, offering all the good fortune that she could give. She hurriedly finished her tea. She carefully placed the fragile china cup on the table. She was ready to make her leave.

"Just promise me one thing," Nexus said, stopping her from moving. Dreama looked at the elder, her eye showing concern. "Whenever you can, keep an eye out for Jamie. Aside from Ash, he's going to need someone like you to watch his back."

"Of course. You can count on me," Dreama smiled with confidence.

"Bless you, child. Stay safe tonight," Nexus sighed in content, gently taking Dreama's hand in a fulfilled promise. Dreama continued to smile as her hand was let go. She drifted up to the sky and settled on her dragon. As they disappeared into the night, Nexus once again became concerned. He needs to get word out and urge everyone to prepare for the worst. Cassandra means to start a war and it more swiftly than Nexus might think.

If Cassandra wants a war, so be it. The hope that Jamie has brought into this works will not die so easily.

This was only the beginning.
