ANNA DELANEY
The stress of leaving Damon and following through on the plan we created had me stressed and anxious to the point where I was hurling up my breakfast every morning.
I longed for Damon's touch, waking up with him beside me. But no matter how much I wanted that, I needed to finish this plan. Just thinking about the things he told me about his past had bile rushing up my throat.

"You sure he likes to eat here?" Natasha asked, stopping in front of the restaurant. "I mean it's a five star restaurant but for creeps," she said looking through the window. "And why are you doing this again?"
"This is one of those no questions asked kind of things," I plastered a smile on my face no matter how nervous I was feeling.
"You're looking a bit pale. Are you okay?" she asked.
"Perfect," I breathed out linking our arms together as we walked into Aiden's favorite restaurant.
We were able to manage bar seats a few feet away from Aiden's table. A middle aged woman with black hair and brown eyes sat across from him. She looked classy, motherly, yet way too young for a man like Aiden.
"My mother had an affair with him but after she died, he went on to date women who looked exactly like her. Black hair, brown eyes, the same age." I remembered Damon's explanation from two weeks ago.
"Two Margaritas please," Nat ordered for us.
"You know what you have to do, right?"
"Indeed. I take the phone from you and bring it to the devil incarnate." She sipped on her own margarita but I was too nervous and anxious to drink any of my own, I'd have to use my drink as a distraction anyways.
"You mean Nick?" I asked clearly teasing her.
"Devil incarnate. Nick. Same thing."
When Aiden finally stood up, I made my way over to him sure to act tipsy and heartbroken from my 'breakup' with Damon.
"Oh my god," I slurred faking shock looking at Aiden who was now covered in my margarita. "I am so-so sorry."
"Anna," he said, my name surprised to see me here.
"Let me help you with that." I grabbed a napkin from the table, dabbing it on his jacket.
"It's fine," he said, taking off his jacket and setting it on the back of his chair. "What brings you here?"
"I was having some drinks with friends but decided to head home early," I placed my hand behind my back acting as if I was scratching myself. I felt the phone being taken from my hand and for a tiny bit, I had hope that this was actually going to work out.
"Why don't you join me?" he asked, gesturing towards the empty seat.
"Oh. I wouldn't want to intrude and I'm really really tired."
"I insist." At this point he wasn't asking, he was ordering me to sit down. "I'll see you later Cheryl," he dismissed his date who was looking at me like I killed her cats.
"Once he sees you, he'll want to sit down with you. All you have to do is distract him and I will take care of the rest. He will try to dissect you and find out what makes you so interesting to me. No matter what, never give him leeway. He's going to try and find some sort of weakness so he can use you against me."
"That's why we are fake breaking up at the family dinner?"
"Precisely. If he thinks we broke up, he won't have a need to hurt you. Because hurting you is hurting me but he won't know that since we 'broke up.'"
"How are you handling the breakup?" he faked sincerity.
"Fine. Just been trying to keep myself busy," I plastered on the fakest smile I could.
"Well that's good news-"
"Steak and a salad," the waiter placed the food down on the table giving me the salad and Aiden the meat.
Aiden picked up the fork and knife and dug in like the animal he was. After noticing that I wasn't eating anything, he spoke up. "Please. Eat, it's on me."
I cleared my throat picking up my fork but I was growing dizzy and nauseous just from the smell of the food around me.
Now is not the time to let my nerves get the best of me.
"Everything alright Anna? You're a bit pale," he noticed but there was no concern in his voice. He was probably enjoying me being on the spot, all for his taking.
"Yeah. I just need to go to the bathroom real quick," I forced the words past my mouth as I shakily got up and walked to the bathroom.
Rushing into one of those stalls, I fell to my knees and hurled up everything I ate today. I heard the click of the bathroom which meant I wasn't alone anymore but I never expected it to be Aiden walking through that door.
I quickly got to my feet flushing the toilet and making my way over to the sink to wash my hands all the while he just stared at me through the mirror.
"Sorry about that. I guess the drinks did not go down well," I lied looking at him through the mirror.
I needed to buy more time, a few minutes is not enough time for Damon.
"You've heard about Damon's mother, correct?"
I slowly shook my head, saying 'no' because if I showed I had cracked Damon's facade, he wouldn't buy this. He had to think I was just a conquest to Damon.
"Hmm. Well I was there for her throughout her entire pregnancy. She was pregnant with my brother's child yet I was obsessed with her. Of course at the time, I was just her brother-in-law, nothing more. I had plans to make her mine of course but not when she was pregnant with another man's child."
"The point?" I asked, growing impatient. I was getting nervous at what he was leading up to, what he was going to possibly admit.
"The point is that you are with a child. Specifically my nephew's child. The heir to King fucking Industries," he smirked.
That was not what I was expecting him to say.
