You ducked out of the way just as Yata's board went flying over your head, nearly taking you out. "Damn it Yata!"
He simply glared at you, turning on his board and lunging for you. You brought your leg up and kicked him in the jaw, back flipping out of the way as you did so and landing perfectly on your feet.
Yata rubbed his jaw but kept on coming, and soon you found that the two of you had managed to make it all the way outside the warehouse you'd been in, and were now right along the river that ran behind.
"Why the hell won't you listen to me?!" You huffed, ducking into a roll as he swung his bat, then kicking out your leg to knock him off his board. It worked.
"Because you're a traitor! Just like the damn monkey!" Yata growled, flipping himself off the ground and lunging for you once more. You jumped back and kept avoiding his attacks, and he managed to back you out along a crappy bridge over the river.
"You know why I left, Yata!" You grabbed onto the railings and flipped yourself over Yata's head, landing behind him. "I loved being in HOMRA!"
Yata spun around, catching your ankle in his grip just before it could connect with his jaw again. "You wouldn't have left it you "loved" HOMRA! So don't keep lying to me!"
"I'm not lying! I had to leave and you know why." You grabbed the railings again and brought your free leg up, nailing him in the side and freeing your other foot from his grasp.
"No, you didn't." Yata stopped attacking for a moment, looking at you with burning eyes. "You didn't have to leave just because Saru did."
"He's my brother." You said quietly, your chest heaving from the fight. "And you're my best friend. It wasn't an easy choice."
Something flashed across his face before it went dark again. "I'm not your friend, traitor."
Unable to help it, you felt the tears starting to build up. "Yata..."
"Just shut up!" He growled. "You're a Blue now! A traitor!"
"BUT I DON'T WANT TO BE A BLUE!" You screamed, startling Yata so much that he stepped back. "I NEVER WANTED TO BE A BLUE! BUT SARU'S MY BROTHER YATA! WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?!"
Yata's eyes widened as you broke down in sobs, clutching onto the railing so hard that your knuckles turned white. He quickly looked to the side and at the ground, scoffing.
"You should have stayed."
You looked at him through your tears. "Please Yata, please just stop this. We were best friends! I DO still care about you and about HOMRA." You sobbed out. Covering your face with your hands, you let your emotions take over completely as you sobbed your heart out.
Yata glanced up at you, feeling something inside him snap in half as guilt began to seep in. He didn't mean to make you cry. Despite his anger towards you for leaving, he didn't want to hurt you. Quickly glancing away again, he grabbed his board and hooked it under his arm. "Whatever." He muttered, turning on his heel to leave.
He couldn't watch you cry anymore.
You moved your hands and watched him start to walk away, the words slipping out of your mouth before you even realized it. "I wanna come home."
Yata froze in place, back tensing up. Had he heard you right? Glancing over his shoulder, he watched as sniffled and wiped at your eyes. "What?"
"I love Saru, but I hate it at Scepter 4, Yata." You choked out. "I just wanna come home."
Yata couldn't help the shot of happiness he felt rush through him, though he kept it hidden. "Oh really?" He scoffed. "You're probably just lying again."
