retrospect #6

justin found it weird as to why ken acted like that. however, he still followed what the latter said and didn't go straight to stell's hospital room even if he was dying inside to see his fiancé. he went to the hospital's rooftop to think for a while. the rooftop has its own garden and some benches around where some patients can rest. some were even with their nurses, guiding them as they walk. justin walked towards the edge of the rooftop and rested his arms on the glass barriers.

it's peaceful up here. he thought.

"hello po!" justin was a bit startled when he heard someone talk. it came from below and the person who called him is a lot smaller than he was. he smiled and knelt down on his knee to match the kid's level.

"hi there! were you calling me?" justin gently asked, pointing to himself and the kid nodded cheerfully before laughing, which Justin found too adorable.

he scanned the kid's appearance. she was wearing a hospital gown, indicating that she stays here too. she has a cotton taped on her left arm, which tells that she probably had some sort of injection.

she seems too young to be in a hospital. justin thought.

"what's your name po, kuya?" she asked.

justin chuckled. her voice is too adorable for him to resist. "my name is kuya justin. ikaw? anong name mo?"

"my name is amanda po. but my nurse calls me 'cherry' po because i like cherries." she said and giggled.

justin's heart almost leaped out of his chest from the way the kid laughs or smiles.

"omygosh, amanda! there you are.." a nurse immediately ran towards the kid infront of justin and gently held his arm.

"sorry po, sir, malikot po talaga 'tong si cherry eh."

justin giggled at the nurse. "okay lang, miss. ang cute niya nga eh."

the nurse smiled. "'lika na, cherry. let's go back to your room na."

"okay po. bye, kuya justin! see you again po!" amanda said as she walks away with the nurse holding her little hand. justin waved back at her with the same energy that she's giving.

as soon as they entered the exit of the rooftop, someone from inside came out. it was paulo. he waved at justin which the younger replied with a wave as well.

justin then started walking to paulo, mentally preparing himself on whatever's about to happen.
