11:02am Bucky's Room.

Hours had passed as the sunlight crept through the small crack in the middle of the long, black curtains draping from Bucky's window. He had been awake since ten, only getting three hours of sleep; which was enough for him to run off for the day as he was fully accustomed to getting little to almost no sleep due to all the work he did for Hydra. Even though it was for a short period, he was surprised at how well-rested he felt, especially after what had happened just a few hours prior. He realized he was in a deep sleep for the duration of it; unlike his usual nights where he's awoken by his body flinching from terror flashing in his nightmares. He was in an everlasting battle with his past.

In the lightly dimmed room, he laid on his side facing Jadeyn, gazing upon the face of the girl he terribly missed seeing in his bed each morning. He was relieved this had happened as soon as it did. He had been dreading her return, knowing he would have to put on an act in front of everyone; including her. He was so glad he'd dropped those hints during her party last night, he couldn't imagine keeping his secret any longer, even though they'd been in each other's presence for a few hours.

Bucky was twisting the long strands of her hair around his index finger, brushing them behind her ear; he was so mesmerized by her. She didn't flinch once, the combination of the drinking, dancing, staying up to comfort Thor and being with Bucky till the crack of dawn, an earthquake wouldn't wake her at this point.

He still couldn't take his eyes off of her, he felt so at ease in her presence, thinking about how much they have to catch up on. He wanted to discuss what had happened when he attacked her; a conversation he also dreaded but one he knew needed to happen no matter how much he despised himself  thinking about it. Imagining the year she had these past months, he knew he'd need weeks on end to catch up with her; knowing how much she loved telling stories.

He remembered back to when she had gone out with Sam on a mission to gather information on a restaurant manager Fury had suspected was in alliance with Alexander Pierce. They both sat at the bar for a few hours one evening in the restaurant, eavesdropping conversations with the staff and watching their every move. Sam and Jadeyn never stopped talking to each other, the nonstop drinking playing a big part in the long chatter. Every night, Bucky would remember Jadeyn coming to bed, telling the stories of their evening for hours until they drifted to sleep. But he didn't mind, he loved that aspect about her; the way she enjoyed everyone's company and how her face always lit up when talking to them. He could listen to her for hours, he couldn't wait to speak to her about the times she has endured this past year.

Speaking of the previous year, he couldn't help but imagine how Thor and her must've connected.

Did anything ever happen between them?

Did they ever share the same bed?

Is he in her bed right now?

Why would he be in there?

Sudden vexation flooded into his brain.

Thor was her best friend, way before they started dating. He was always very protective over her, even more so when she began dating him. The gentlemen would get along just fine for her sake but, there was always tension that arose in the room between the pair. It had crossed Bucky's mind multiple times since they split, wondering if anything had happened between the two during their time over there, especially since she left for the mission right after the break up. It stung him the hardest after he saw his large, towering build behind her when she opened the door on their first night back; he couldn't possibly fathom seeing her with someone else.

Suddenly he heard soft groaning under him breaking his train of thought.

"M-morning," she mumbled as her eyes slowly fluttered open.
