A/N: Looks like I was able to update sooner than I thought!

"We're here!" Grell cheerfully announced when you both arrived at her scarlet-colored vehicle. She was parked right next to the sidewalk fairly close to where you just left.

"Buckle up!" Grell said as she opened up one of the back doors and tossed you inside before shutting the door.

"Ouch!" You yelped when your body hit the other side of the car's interior. While Grell didn't exactly throw you hard, but definitely firm enough for it to not feel very good. The side of your head had lightly bumped the area just below the glass window. Groaning a little, you rubbed the area with your hand.

Grell entered the driver's side and started the engine. Without a chance to get yourself buckled in, Grell set the car in reverse and slammed her heeled foot on the gas pedal. The force of the car abruptly traveling backwards sent you jerking forward on the back of the driver's seat, which Grell felt.

"What the devil are you doing back there!?" Grell hit the brake, which made you fall back on the seat behind you. "I thought I told you to get buckled up!"

"I'm trying! Just stop for a moment!" You shouted. This was not the sort of introduction you were expecting on the day of being adopted.

Annoyed, Grell groaned and set the car back in park mode. "Alright, get on with it. We haven't got all day."

Trying to get yourself settled as quickly as you could, you grabbed the seatbelt above you. When the latch plate connected to the buckle, making a click sound, Grell impatiently asked, "Are you ready now?"

"Yes," you replied.

Nothing could ever prepare you for what you were about to go through. Grell hit the accelerator once more, taking off onto the concrete road. You weren't sure what the speed limit for this road was, but that didn't matter because there was no doubt that the daring redhead was traveling well beyond it. The vehicle surpassed all the other ones around you both. Even with the seat belt securing you in place, your body still jerked around. You gripped the handle of the door next to you, holding on for dear life every time Grell made an extremely sharp turn, an abrupt stop, and rapid accelerations. Somehow, the redhead never came even close to crashing into another vehicle, but quite a bit of the other drivers honked at her and spewed various vulgar sentences out through their windows.

"Can you slow down!?" You begged. You weren't sure how much longer you could handle this. Even if it had merely been a few minutes, it felt like much more than that.

"This is the slowest I've ever gone, darling." Grell sounded offended. She turned on the radio, blasting mainstream music. "Honestly, first day and already so ungrateful..." Grell muttered, shaking her head. She turned up the volume loud enough to where even if you screamed, she wouldn't be able to hear you. She clearly wasn't up to hearing anymore complaining from your end.

Finally, Grell pulled up into a parking space in front of a two story home and made her final, violent stop for today's ride.

"We're home!" Grell shut off the engine and exited out of the vehicle. Still seated in the back, you still have one hand holding onto the door handle with the other gripping the seat underneath you. The grip on both of your hands was enough to make it hurt, but the very recent trauma of the car ride you had just gone through prevented you from noticing. You stared into space wide eyed breathing heavily with your whole body trembling.

Your hand slipped off the handle when Grell opened up your door. She rolled her eyes when she saw the state you were in. "Oh come on! It wasn't THAT BAD!" She reached in to unbuckle your seatbelt and help you out of the car. You stepped down on the concrete pavement but your shaky legs kept you from supporting yourself. You nearly fell to the ground, but Grell caught you just in time.

"I suppose I'm going to have to carry you again," Grell said, who was holding onto your shoulder. She slipped her arm behind your legs so that you were practically sitting on her forearm as she lifted you up.

"Welcome to your new home, dear," Grell said warmly as she walked towards the door. "I'm just sure you'll like it here!"

During the walk from the car to the door, you had a chance to observe your new home. The structure alone of this two story home was simple, with a short flight of stairs connecting to a porch with black railings and pillars at the edges. But what made the exterior stand out from the rest of the neighborhood was that the color of the house, with the exception of the roof, was painted the same color as Grell's car.

"After Will and I got married, we saw this house and we knew it was perfect!" Grell began rambling. "I begged Will to let me paint it red and although it took several times, he finally set yes and I made sure not to miss a spot when I brushed over the dull grey of the home.

"Oh, by the way," Grell continued. "As long as you are living here, expect the color red to be a big part of your life."

A large part of you suspected that Grell had a passion for the color red.

She set you down next to her when you arrived in front of the door. By that time, your nerves had finally calmed down.

"Will is still at work and won't be back until the evening. So it is just you and I for now so we have a lot of time to kill. It was Will that actually gave me the day off so that this day could be possible. Here is my advice for you when you're older: Always marry your boss! You'll get away with much more and life will just be better." Grell grinned, exposing all of her razor teeth. "Besides, you would be able to tell that world that you make lo-" She paused mid-sentence, her eyes widening when she realized just what she was about to say.

Confused, you looked up at her, head slightly tilted.

"Never mind!" She laughed awkwardly, lightly scratching the back of her neck. "You're too little to understand."

"But, what-"

"Let's just get inside, dear!"
