A/N: Psssst... Book III is in development

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier, Grell said that she was going to work as Will stayed home looking after you but that only part of that was true. When she left, she did indeed head to work. Since no souls were to be reaped until later that day, Grell was stuck in her office working with a pile of paperwork. She carried on the dull task for a couple of hours until Ronald barged in and asked her if she wanted to grab some drinks from the local coffee shop. After an immediate yes, she grabbed her coat and headed out with them.

At first, the outing was meant to be a brief break from their work. But it wasn't long after that the duo decided just to take the rest of the day off. They were probably going to get in trouble again, but it wasn't anything foreign to them. If they didn't tend to those souls when their time of death came, then someone else would have to. There was no doubt that they were going to get a stern talking to, but that was tomorrow's problem.

For the rest of the day, Grell and Ronald continued their shenanigans. After they finished their delicious drinks, they left the coffee shop, they went out to shop in town without actually buying anything. But that proved to be less of a challenge for Ronald than it was for Grell.

"Oh, I just HAVE to get that dress!" Grell expressed adoringly when she spotted a fancy-looking red dress that she imagined herself wearing during her dates with Will. She was about to grab it from its hook when Ronald held her back.

"Hold on! You can't buy that."

"And why not? Can't you see how wonderful it is!? I just know it will fit me perfectly! This dress is DESTINED for me!"

"Yes, but if you buy it now and bring it home, Will is going to find out you skipped work today. Even if he is going to find out regardless, we don't want it to be until tomorrow," Ronald informed her.

"I suppose you're right..." Grell let out a sad sigh. As she came to think about it, she could easily buy it and simply hide it under her shirt or something along those lines. But the only way she could afford this dress would be the credit card that Will was in charge of, and he could easily find out WHEN she bought the dress if he were to check today. She couldn't even shoplift at this place as cameras were everywhere in this store. Even the greatest thief couldn't so much as steal a coin here.

Ronald smiled apologetically at her. "Perhaps this dress will be here another day and you can get it then."

"Maybe." With a frown, Grell and Ronald both left the store. But fortunately, she seemed to forget all about the dress when they browsed a couple of more stores. She was one hundred percent back to her cheerful self when they both spent time at a bar. They spent the rest of their day chatting as they had a few drinks.

When it came to returning home later that evening, Grell made sure to time it correctly. Luckily when the time came to leave, she was sober enough to drive. She consumed some mint to mask any evidence of alcohol.

Around six-thirty, she entered her home to see her lover on the couch and to her lack of surprise, on his laptop working from home. So far he didn't appear to have noticed that she skipped work today.

"Will, my darling!" She announced her presence. Just as Will looked up, Grell had rushed over and wrapped her arms around his neck and squeezed tightly.

"Welcome home, Grell," Will greeted her before they both shared a kiss. She plopped down next to him, curling up at his side.

"Where is (Y/N)?" Grell asked.
