Another prompt from the Jaya discord is here. I honestly love all the ideas those Jaya-obsessed people come up with XD.

This one belongs to Jeleego.

Disclaimer: I don't ship Plasma or Greenflame. Just platonically. Anything in this one-shot suggesting otherwise is purely for the sake of comedy and the plot direction.

Welcome to a whole new level of weird awkwardness! 😁

Cole was feeling rebellious that day and wanted to set fire to the monastery's brittle peace and sanity by pranking someone. And a certain lightning-powered, arcade-obsessed, freckled ginger was being suggested as the unfortunate target to him.

After making sure Jay was in the shower (and singing in a 'beautiful' voice), the earth ninja stealthily crept into his room and closed in on the blue-cased cell phone that lay charging on the nightstand. Cole resisted the urge to cackle like a criminal lunatic as he picked up the device and opened the messenger app.

Jay was the master of blabber. There was no doubt about it. But he was also the master of using text messages even when the person he was texting to was sitting right next to him. In short, at any given instant, Jay would be messaging someone or another. Cole thought it to be the perfect way to prank his talkative pal.

He opened up the list of contacts and blithely rolled his eyes at the nicknames Jay had saved the numbers under. He then proceeded to switch them up. He changed Dirtclod to Snowbro, Greenbean to Cinderbreath, Cinderbreath to Lovelily, Lovelily to Greenbean, and Snowbro to Dirtclod.

"Rocky Dangerbuff was here," Cole whispered, grinning with mock wickedness. Cole put the phone back and tip-toed out of the room, taking care to quietly close the door after him.

Jay discarded his fuzzy towel to the floor after drying his wet hair and unplugged his phone from the socket. Letting out a satisfactory sigh, he dropped onto his bed and swiped the screen to get in. He searched through the applications for Candy Crush, meaning to entertain himself with a few rounds of the sweet-themed game till lunchtime.

"Oh, wait. I should text Nya about movie night first," he muttered, opening up the contacts. He scrolled down, tapped on Lovelily, quickly typed out a message, and pressed the paper airplane icon to send.

While he was wondering why he had been discussing sister troubles with Nya in the previous chat, the tick mark turned blue, indicating the text had been seen. Smiling, and being none the wiser, Jay continued to launch the game and kill a few minutes.

He did not dwell over the fact that Nya wasn't replying to him since he knew she would be giving him knowing looks from across the table during lunch later on. So, he let the silence slide.

However, this credulity lasted till after lunch was served and everyone was already halfway through it. Jay kept glancing at the water ninja, expecting her to smile sweetly so he could wink in return. But the girl's body language suggested that she had not even laid eyes on the message much less be disapproving of it.
