Nick's p.o.v
I watched as Miley's face lite up. She smiled so brightly and I sucked every bit of it up.
"Ready to head back to the house?" Brandi said looking at Miley and I.
"Yeah, I think we're good." Miley said looking at the bags that were in her hands.
"Yeah, I think we shopped enough." Noah laughed.
"I agree." Brandi laughed.
"I'll ride back to the house with Nick." Miley said looking at Brandi then me.
"Sounds good." Brandi agreed.
Brandi and Noah walked to her car and Miley and I walked to mine. She was silent but there was a smile plastered brightly on her face. My stomach fluttered at her expression. As we approached my car I walked to the passenger side to open the door for her.
"Thanks," she smiled.
"Of course." I smiled back. I shut the door once she was inside. I quickly walked around to the driver side and got in.
"I can't believe you are here." She gushed looking over at me.
"I'd do anything to see a smile on your face." I retorted as I started the car.
"I missed you." She smiled as she reached for my hand. I grabbed her hand and slowly brought it to my lips giving her a quick kiss.
"I missed you too." I breathed as I continued to hold her hand in my lap.
"Did my sister call you?" Miley asked.
"Your brother called first, then your sister." I said with a laugh.
"They care about you," I said looking over at her. Her smile still shinned brightly.
"I know," she said.
"I'm just like really happy you are here." She said with a giddy expression on her face.
"I can tell. You have been smiling since I showed up," I chuckled. "Not that I mind, I love when you smile." I said kissing her hand again.
"I feel the same about your smile." She said.
"We have a lot that we need to talk about," she sighed.
"I know," I breathed. My nerves began to kick in. Miley knew that I loved her, at least I hoped, but did she know that I would do absolutely anything for her? I was scared and I feared that I could lose her, for good, if this went wrong.
"But, at least we have plenty of time to talk about it since you are here." She said squeezing my hand.
"I just don't want to lose you." I blurted out. I didn't want to admit it, but I knew that she needed to hear it.
"No matter what happens, you know that I love you. This shouldn't be a scary conversation. I just don't want to fuck anything up again." She soothed. "I can't lose you, I can't go through that again." She huffed.
"At least we are on the same page." I said with a lite chuckle as I tried to ease the situation.
After a while we arrived at her family's ranch. Miley was happy, and so was I. I would do anything to be the reason that there was a smile on her face. It seemed as though we both feared the upcoming conversation, with good reason of course. For now I was going to enjoy this evening with her and her family. I parked the car and gathered her shopping bags and my suite case from the trunk before following her to the porch. I felt wanted here and that was nice for a change. I was lucky enough to be welcomed with open arms into their home.
"Miley, Nick." Tish said greeting us at the door with a nice big smile on her face.
"Hello," I smiled standing behind Miley.
"Where is Brandi and Noah?" Miley asked looking at the driveway. Only my car sat there.
"I had them go pick up a few things at the store. No worries, they will be back soon." Tish smiled.
"Okay," Miley nodded.
"Come inside," She said moving out of the way she gestured for me to come inside. "I will show you up to the room you will be staying in." She smiled as she started walking up the stair case. I walked behind her with Miley following behind me.
"Your room is right here Nick," she said opening the door to my room. I walked inside and placed my bags along with Miley's on the bed.
"Thank you," I nodded.
"Come down stairs when you are settled in." Tish said before walking away.
"I'll take my bags and show you my room." Miley smiled grabbing a few of her shopping bags as I grabbed the rest.
"This is my room," Miley said opening the door to the room that was literally right across from mine.
"So close to mine," I laughed. "Where do you want your bags?" I asked walking inside the room.
"On the bed is fine. I need to put the stuff away." She laughed as she emptied out the bags.
"I should change and get settled in." I said turning on my heal.
"Hey Nick," Miley said stopping me from leaving her room.
"Yes," I asked turning to face her.
"I am really happy that you are here." She smiled.
"Me too," I smiled back and continued to go back to my room.
I changed into a new pair of jeans and lose V-neck before walking down stairs.
"Nick." Trace said as I emerged into the living room.
"Hey Trace, good to see you man." I said giving him a hug.
"Glad you could make it." He said pulling away.
"Well, I did appreciate the call inviting me to come." I said smiling.
"Anything to make my sister happy." He laughed.
"Hey son," Mileys dad said as he walked into the living room.
"Hey Mr. Cyrus." I said greeting him.
"Don't be so formal. Like I told you before, you can call me Billy." He said reaching over to give me a hug. "You know that you are a part of this family and we sure aren't formal." He laughed after pulling away. I laughed in agreement with him.
"Hey sorry it took us so long." Brandi said walking into the house with Noah following behind.
"It's okay, go get ready for dinner." Tish said receiving the grocery bags from the girls. They then quickly walked upstairs.
I chatted some with Billy and Trace some. It was mostly about the football game that would be airing this weekend. A few moments later Miley came into the living room.
"Hey," I said smiling over at Miley.
"Dinner is ready," Tish called from the other room. Miley grabbed my hand and led me into the dining room.
It was nice to be able to join them. I felt at home her next to Miley and there was nothing that could ever compare to that feeling. I loved this family and I felt lucky to be a part of it.
