Miley’s p.o.v

I walked to the door swiftly and opened it. Joe stood in the doorway with a small smile on his face.

“Hey! Come in” I smiled letting him inside the house.

“Wow, it is so good to see you again!” He smiled before hugging me.

“I know, it has been years.” I laughed lightly.

“Oh, I invited Nick over so he could help us figure out some way to get you out of town without the media finding out.” Joe said following me into the living room.

“Okay.” I said sitting down on the couch. “Would you like anything to eat or drink?”

“I’m good right now. I went out to lunch with Kevin earlier.” He said looking around the room. “Wow, you got a nice place here. Is this you and Liam on the set of the Last Song?” He asked pointing to a picture.

“Uh, yeah…that was over three years ago.” I said nervously.

“You both live here together, right?”

“Well…sort of. I bought the place for myself, but whenever he was in town he would stay here with me.” I sighed. “I actually think I am going to sell the place…to many hard memories.”

“Oh…”

“We broke up last night.” I blurted out.

“Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.”

“No, it’s okay. Our break up was long overdue. It was hard but, we didn’t have anything that was really keeping us together. It hurts but, I feel free now.” I breathed.

“That’s good. I can tell that you look a little happier.” He smiled over at me. A few seconds later there was another knock at the door.

I got up and walked over to the door.

“Hey” Nick smiled.

“Come in” I said letting him inside.

“Hey Joe” he said giving his brother a hug. “How was lunch with Kevin?”

“Good. Nothing new.” He said sitting down on the couch. Nick sat next to him and watched me intensely.

“So, we need to come up with a plan.” Joe looked at Nick and then me.

“I really want this to stay between the three of us. I really don’t want any word to get around that I have left town or anything like that. That will cause even more drama and I don’t need that.”

“Okay…” Nick said looking at me. “We aren’t going to say anything. We understand what you are going through and we just want to help.” Nick assured and Joe agreed with what he said.

“When I go to Cabo I normally I drive half way. Then take a plane or a train the rest of the way. When you get there, you will have to take a boat to get to Cabo.” Joe started.

“I think a train would be less obvious. You should disguise yourself and use a fake name and passport.” Nick said.

“I can pay for it with my off shore account.” Joe said pulling out his phone. “Do you have a laptop that I can use?”

“Sure” I said standing to my feet. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed my laptop off of the counter. “I can pay you back…I have some cash on me.”

“It’s not a big deal.” Joe said with a laugh. I gave him my laptop and sat down next to him.

“Do you even have a fake ID and Passport?” Nick asked looking over at me.

“Yeah, I do actually. It’s only for emergencies. Only my mom knows about it.”

“Alright, so I bought the train ticket…all you need to do is drive about 5 hours. You should probably rent a car. Then turn it in and rent another 3 hours into the trip. I will print out directions and I know of a place you will be able to rent a car discreetly. It will cost a little more, but it is better that way.” Joe said pulling up a few sites.

“You should probably wear a wig and a pair of glasses. Maybe even change the color of your eyes using contacts. Also, add some make-up that can alter your facial structure.” Nick said standing to his feet.

“Okay, that seems simple enough.”

“Who will take care of your dogs? If you take them with you, someone might figure out who you are through them.” Nick said looking at Mary Jane who was laying in her dog bed.

“I can ask my mom. I could tell her that I am going to be away for a while and I would need her to take care of them.”

“That should work.” Nick wandered.

“What about Liam? Have you talked with your manager about how they should handle the break up rumors?”

“Well, the only people I have told about it are you and Joe. I don’t know if Liam has said anything or not.” I began to think about all the drama that would stir once people did find out.

“You should talk with them briefly about it before you leave so there won’t be bigger drama when you return.”

“You’re right…I didn’t think about that.” I said grabbing my phone. “I should call Pharrell and talk to him about how to go about this. Then I will call my mom.” I breathed.

After a few rings Pharrell answered the phone.

“Hey Miley!” He said cheerfully.

“Hey.” I said.

“What is going on?” He asked sensing that something was wrong.

“I wanted to get your advice on something.”

“Okay...”

“Well, Liam and I broke up and I wasn’t sure how to go about making a statement or not…”

“I’m sorry to hear that…” He spoke sincerely. “I haven’t seen any rumors besides the cheating scandal. I suggest preparing a statement in case it comes to that. You don’t want to look like you have no defense for whatever is being said. You should call your manager and have something written out.” He said, and I couldn’t help but agree.

“That sounds like a good idea…thanks.”

“No problem. I always have your back, no matter what.” He said before hanging up.

I quickly called my mom and decided to tell her all that was going on. She was understanding and okay with the fact that I was going to go on vacation. I told her what to say to the media if rumors started spreading. She was easy going about the situation and assured me that it was going to be okay. I felt at ease about the drama that was surrounding me. I was so thankful that I had such amazing understanding people in my life.

“It looks like you are all set.” Nick said walking into my bedroom. I was just finishing up packing the last of my things.

“Yeah, thanks to you and Joe.” I smiled.

“Well, we will drive you to the car place and say goodbye there. Whenever you’re ready…” He said looking at me. I could sense the tension that was starting to stir up between us. It wasn’t bad tension…it was just different.

“I think I am ready now…” I said. I followed them out of the house. I drove with Joe and Nick followed behind to make sure that no one else was following.

I was so happy that I was getting away for a little bit. I was also scared and nervous for some odd reason. Everything was finally catching up with me.
