Miley’s p.o.v
Nashville used to be one of my favorite places to go. When times would get rough, or I needed a vacation, I could always come home. I was able to breathe here, it was like I wasn’t famous, I was normal.
It was different, my family was different. I was okay with that, I wanted them to be happy and it seemed like I forgot what it felt like to be with them. They were always so supportive of me, and I was supportive of them. In the end, I just didn’t get to see them as much. I feel like I lost a lot of quality time. I was always in a hurry, in a rush to do anything and everything, I forgot to enjoy the little things.
I missed out on a lot. I may not be able to go back in time and fix those little memories, I can fix the present and future. My future was blurry, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do or where I was going to go. I knew that I wanted to make memories that would last a lifetime, and that started with my family and Nick.
Every day this week, Nick and I talked on the phone and texted. It wasn’t the real thing but we were starting out slow and getting to know one another again. I loved that, and I loved him. I was learning things about him that I didn’t know before. I could tell that this was hard for him, and it was hard for me…but we knew what we wanted and that was each other.
I have known Nick for years, but I feel like we are just starting to talk and don’t know a thing about each other. I guess that makes sense…we have both changed and grown of the years we weren’t even talking to each other. I find it refreshing, like we are starting out with a fresh start and I think that we both need that.
My dad and I went horseback riding together this morning, it was nice to get alone time with him, after Hannah ended…we drifted. I was doing different acting stuff and working on my albums, not to mention my relationship with Liam. My father was busy with his career. It was hard because I was always daddy’s girl. I felt as if I didn’t really know him after a while. When I told him that I going to step out of the spotlight, he had my back and so did that rest of my family. Coming to Nashville has been so good for me. I have grown closer to my family, and that was something that I really needed. I re-building my relationships and making more memories.
“Miley!” Brandi called knocking on my door.
“Come in!” I shouted. I had just woken up from a nice nap.
“Hey,” She smiled climbing on the bed, she laid next to me.
“Hey,” I smiled.
“I was wondering if you wanted to go into the city, and maybe go shopping.” She asked with a bright smile.
“Sure,” I smiled.
“Okay, Noah is coming with us. We will leave in about 20 minutes, sound good?” She asked hopping off the bed.
“Sounds great!” I smiled getting out of bed. She left the room so I could get ready.
I threw a pair of jeans on and a black-tee with a scarf and boots. I grabbed my clutch before running down stairs. I looked a mess and my hair was thrown into a messy bun because I really wasn’t in the mood to take care of it. Since it was February, it was still chilly outside so I needed to bring a jacket.
“Ready?” Noah asked waiting by the front door.
“Yeah,” I smiled I grabbed her hand and walked out the door Brandi was right behind us.
“Where are we going to go shopping?” I asked once we were in the car.
“I was thinking the shops in the city, is that cool?” Brandi said speeding down the driveway and off the property.
“Sure,” I smiled.
Noah put some music on and we sang out loud to the songs and laughed. I missed these moments, these are the memories I never want to forget. After thirty minutes of laughing and singing terribly we arrived at the city shops. Brandi parked and we got out of the car.
“Can we get Starbucks first?” Noah asked grabbing my hand.
“Sure,” I laughed. Brandi led the way to Starbucks as Noah and I followed behind.
Noah ordered Brandi and I’s drink as we waited at the table outside. Brandi was acting a bit strange and I wasn’t quite sure why so I shrugged it off. A few minutes later Noah walked out with two drinks in her hands. She sat down and gave Brandi hers and drank from the other one.
“Where is mine?” I asked laughing lightly.
“The guy said he would bring it out.” Noah shrugged.
“Okay,” I rolled my eyes.
A second or so later the doors opened and a guy walked out with a drink in his hands. He started walking towards our table, which was obvious considering we were the only ones outside. After a few seconds I noticed that it was Nick. I jumped up out of my chair and ran towards him.
“Nick!” I shouted. He opened his arms so I could jump in. He spun me around few times before placing my feet back on the ground. He kissed my lips swiftly as he smiled ear-to-ear.
“Surprise!” He laughed. “Here is your drink by the way,” He smiled.
“How did you get here?” I asked with a goofy smile on my face.
“I flew, duh.” He laughed walking me back to the table where my sisters were. I held onto his arm not wanting to let go.
“Whatever,” I said kissing his cheek. We sat down with Brandi and Noah.
“Awww” Noah gushed.
“Shut up!” I laughed.
“You seem so much happier.” Brandi smiled. I rolled my eyes and ignored her comment.
“I can’t believe you are here.” I leaned over and pecked his lips.
“Your father called me and asked if I wanted to come visit for the remainder of your vacation. I don’t have anything else going and I really missed you so of course I came.” He smiled as he held my and in his lap.
“Noah and Brandi helped me pull of the surprise.” He smiled at them.
“Thank you both,” I smiled at them.
“Of course Miles. We knew you were a bit down because you missed him so we decided it would be good to surprise you.” Brandi smiled and Noah nodded.
“You guys are the best.” I smiled.
“Let’s go get our shop on!” Noah jumped out of her chair.
“Shall we?” Nick asked standing to his feet.
“We shall.” I stood up and clung to his arm. I never wanted to let go.
