My body ached, I was exhausted but I had to keep going. I fought alongside Steve and every so often he would look over at me, almost becoming transfixed.
It seemed to happen suddenly, Thanos slipped the gauntlet over his hand. The titan tilting his head back and clenching his teeth as the power from the six stones surged through his body.
He looked down at Tony who was collapsed on the floor. Steve and I froze looking at eachother. Steve's eyes began to water as he gazgazed into my eyes.
"I am inevitable" He said snapping his fingers.
I flinched, yet nothing happened. I stood there in confusion until I saw Tony with his hand in the air the stones in his gauntlet.
We all froze, even Thanos was scared. Tony didn't cry out in pain like Thanos. He kept his jaw clenched as the power surged through the hero.
"And I-" Tony grunted.
"I am Ironman" He managed to get out before snapping his fingers.
The army began to turn into dust floating away in the wind. Thanos sat down accepting his fate, he looked at Tony in almost a stare of respect.
A human. A mortal harnessed the stones without a single wince of pain. Slowly the purple titan dusted away.
I turned to face Tony, he slumped down against the rubble.
"Mr Stark?" Peter said softly approaching the billionaire.
Peter collapsed besides his mentor gripping his shoulder.
"We won Mr Stark" Peter sobbed his voice cracking.
I rushed towards my brother standing behind him.
"Mr- Mr Stark" the young boy stuttered.
He fell forward his forehead against Tony's arc reactor, the blue light flickering.
"Pete" I said softly crouching down besides him.
"Mr Stark- Tony" Peter pleaded.
I grabbed Peter turning him into me. Peter gripped my latex suit sobbing into my suit. Tony had become like a father figure to Peter. He's already lost so much.
I comforted Peter as Pepper said her final goodbyes to Tony.
I looked over to Steve who was on one knee tears running down his face. His face covered in dirt and blood. Mjolnir on the ground next to him. His shield broken besides him.
I held Peter tight as he sobbed, his body shaking violently.
"Pep" Tony said softly a ghost of a smile appearing on the mans face.
He was putting on a brave face for his wife. Tony didn't want her to see him in pain.
"You can rest now Tony" Pepper smiled weakly holding back tears.
Just like Tony Pepper didn't want Tony to see her cry.
After a few seconds the light on Tony's reactor flickered shut. Pepper let out a loud sob falling onto Tony's body.
Peter stepped away from me wiping his face as he stared down at his mentor.
"I'm ok, go to Steve" He whispered.
Tears still rolling down his face, I looked at him and he nodded at me offering me a smile trying to hide his pain. I gave him a kiss on the forehead and headed towards Steve. Who was standing leant up against one of the walls of the compound away from the crowd.
Steve stood up and walked over to me. He cupped my face in his large hands.
"I- I can't believe your back" Steve whispered his blue eyes scanning my face.
The rest of the team had begun to retreat allowing Pepper some space with Tony. They also went to get some help as everyone was injured.
"It's not that easy to get rid of me" I joked with a small smile.
Steve smiled sadly a small chuckle escaped his lips.
"You have no idea how much I missed you" Steve said.
He leant forward and crashed our lips together. I kissed him deeply together our lips molding perfectly together as if they were made for eachother. I heard Steve sigh in content as my arms wrapped around his shoulders.
He pulled away resting his forehead against mine, having to bend down slightly because of our slight height difference.
He reached his hand down into his pocket, the blondes hand shaking slightly. He pulled out the paper ring which he had given me five years ago. The paper had begin to rip and it wasn't as white as it was before but I didn't care.
Steve slipped the ring back onto my finger a smile on his face as tears streamed down his face.
"You kept this?" I asked genuinely suprised.
"Of course, I was waiting for the day to return it on your finger. It belongs there" He said.
I smiled and placed a soft kiss on his lips.
"I honestly thought you would've moved on, I told him honestly" I said sadly.
Steve hooked his finger underneath my chin lifting my head to look at him.
"I couldn't move on from you. You are the one for me, you are my other half, my home. It's you it'll always be you" He said softly caressing my cheek.
"I love you Steve Rogers" I sighed in content.
"And I love you Y/n Parker, always and forever" He said.
"Always and forever" I repeated gazing into his baby blue eyes.
I glanced over to my shoulder to see Peter saying his final goodbyes to Tony, the brunette teen sporting a sad smile on his face.
Steve walked over pulling me into his side, resting his head ontop of mine.
"I'm sorry about Tony" I said looking up at Steve.
Steve offered me a small smile.
"Tony knew what was coming, to be honest we all did. He did what any of us would" Steve sighed.
I gave his hand a squeeze and he smiled down at me. Peter stood up and walked towards me. Steve nodded and took a small step back.
Peter didn't speak instead he walked over practically collapsing into my arms.
"I'm sorry" I whispered.
Peter nodded and buried his head into the crook of my neck.
"C'mon let's get you home" I said helping him stand.
