We sat in silence as rock music played on the radio. Dustin had just told us everything.

"Wait a sec. How big?" I asked Dustin and turned around to look at him, who was sitting in the back seat.

"First, it was like that. Now, he's like this." Dustin said, showing how big the creature had become with his hands. He said that this creature looked like the same one Nancy, Jonathan, Steve and I had fought last year. Was this really starting again?

"I swear to God, man, if it's just some little lizard, okay?" Steve said to him flatly.

"It's not a lizard." Dustin insisted.

"How do you know?" I asked him, narrowing my eyes.

"How do I know if it's not a lizard?"

"How do you know if it's not just a lizard?" Steve repeated my words back to him.

"Because his face opened up and he ate my cat."

Everyone went quiet and I looked over at Steve. Okay, he had a point.

We arrived at Dustin's house, got out, and went to the trunk of the car. Steve opened it and got his nail bat out and some flashlights, and I got my normal bat out from Halloween. He shut the trunk, and we all walked to Dustin's backyard. Steve and I followed Dustin as he walked over to a hatch. We listened for the creature to make a noise. Dustin said that he locked this thing down in there.

"I don't hear shit," Steve said as he looked down at the bunker's doors.

"He's in there." Dustin said. Steve gently hit the door with his bat to see if the creature would make a noise, but nothing happened, so he hit it harder. Still nothing.

Steve turned around to look at Dustin. "All right, listen, kid. I swear, if this is some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead." Steve said, pointing his flashlight into Dustin's face.

"It's not."

"Alright?"

"It's not a prank. Get it out of my face."

They both argued, and I stepped over to the bunker.

"You got a key for this thing?" I asked Dustin.

We were able to open the hatch doors, and it was very dark down there. "Let me see that." Steve pointed the flashlight down there, but the creature wasn't there.

"He must be further down there. I'll stay up here in case he tries to escape." Dustin said to us.

I looked over at him. "Are you serious?" I said. I rolled my eyes and then grabbed the flashlight out of Steve's hand and walked down the steps. I may be afraid of masked killers, but I'm not afraid of a giant lizard. Steve followed me down the steps into the cellar.

I looked around with the flashlight and moved closer to the ceiling light, and turned it on. Steve picked up some of the skin it had left behind with his bat. But there was no lizard creature in sight.

"Look," I said to him. There was a hole leading out of the room and into the earth. Steve went to get Dustin.

"Get down here." He called up to Dustin. Dustin walked down the steps, and Steve showed him the skin shedding.

"Oh, shit." I then pointed my bat at the hole in the wall.

"Oh, shit." Then we walked over to the small tunnel. "No way," Dustin said. This thing had burrowed its way out of the bunker.

Dustin had made up a plan to lead this giant lizard, or apparently baby Demogorgon, back to us so it wouldn't eat more of people's pets, and that had taken all night. We were now getting buckets of meat out of the trunk of Steve's car, and I was putting on yellow gloves.
