VI: Mother's Promise (Serena's POV)

I was out the shower and dressed in my pajamas. I sat on the couch next to my mom who came from work not to long ago. Nothing really happened around the apartment, just me doing whatever and my mom either out working or in here relaxing. It was just us sitting there until I decided to speak.

"Hey Mom, soooo.... Today was... A strange day. I met a new friend."

"Call me Kaori. You know I don't like it when you call me mom"

My mom wanted me to call her by her name because she wanted us to be good friends and talk on a first name basis. I guess it worked, I shared most of my stories with her. She knows I'm a lesbian, she knows who I've liked, my mom knew nearly everything about me. So I was used to telling her my thoughts.

"Fine. Kaori. I met a new friend today. Her name is Amelia and she is a strange little girl. She is pretty weird. She stares at me quite a lot and she stuttered a lot while she spoke to me."

"But is she cute?"

I turned red to look up at my smiling mom. Why would she ask such a thing.

"W-what Kaori?"

"I said, but is she cute? Everybody has little quirks that are wrong with them. Even if she is a little strange. She could still be cute. If she is, you should ask her out. It sounds like she already likes you."

I was so astonished by my mom. She was giving me advice on women. I didn't want to awnser the question, but I know she would force it out eventually.

"Yeah. She is pretty cute, but I just don't know if I should ask her out. Isn't a bit too early to ask her out? Plus I don't even know if she's a lesbian. "

"Alright, fine. It may be a bit early, but you must ask her out eventually. You have too, promise me that Serena."

"Fine, I'll ask her out eventually. When the time is right. I promise."
