Lauren's POV

As soon as I get into the car, I am quick to pull out my notebook and read the message I'd been looking forward to read since Camila wrote it hours prior.

It was a phone number and a time.

11:10pm tonight :)

How did she have access to a phone?

Uh oh.

Of course I wasn't going to report this, I mean... I should.

But I really wanted to talk to her.

Maybe it's not as bad as I think.

I couldn't help but feel the excitement rush through my body, she wanted to talk to me, but what about?

I guess we'll see later tonight.

I drove aimlessly home, with my body driving and my mind thinking.

She made me smile, and gosh she was beautiful.

Dammit.

She was fucking gorgeous and I couldn't stop thinking about her.

UGH, why am I like this?

I tighten my grip around the steering wheel.

I knew this was wrong, communicating with an inmate outside prison walls. Especially with a mobile phone that she shouldn't have access to.

Fuck the rules for one night, I had been abiding by the rules my whole life. One night won't kill anyone.

I park in my garage, entering my dwelling and inhaling my favourite scent. Coconuts and cedar mix, it was addictive.

Hours passed by.

I sat on my couch, alone, thinking about my situation I've dug myself into.

Why is it, I feel a certain way with her?
She is a murderer, she has physically killed another person. I need to remember that, and I need to remember my place.

I pray that I won't fall deeper in this pit that has formed in my brain. It seems to look rather lavish now, but I knew that if I'd pursue this feeling it would end in heartbreak. Like it always does.

But something about Camila screams that she is different. My heart beat a tad differently around her, and I knew this kind of feeling would only exacerbate my fear of heartbreak. I had to control myself around her, as much as I could.

Why is she different though?

My mind racks through the possible logical reasons on why I felt this way with her.

Then I hear my door click, and I knew it was Ally.

"I'M IN THE LOUNGE" I scream out to her.

-"COMING!" She replied, I knew she had a smile on her face.

She walks in, then looks at me with an amused look.
